A complete waste of time, October 26, 2005
This review is from: GRE Mathematics (Graduate Record Examination Series, Gre-12) (Plastic Comb)
If you are considering graduate studies in mathematics or a related field, and you are preparing to take the GRE Math Subject Exam, then this book is a complete waste. There are very few questions here beyond the level of the general GRE. The book claims that it is supposed to be used as preparation for the subject exam, but it is clear that the writers of the book have no clue regarding the content of the actual exam. Here's an example of one of their practice questions: The number of students in a school increased from 100 to 300. What is the percent increase?
I am appalled that the authors have the audacity to sell such garbage. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Math Subject GRE. Some decent resources include (1) the sample exam on the GRE main website, (2) The Princeton Review's "Cracking the GRE Math Subject Test", and (3) REA's "The Best Test Preparation for the GRE in Mathematics"

My 1 star is an inflated grade !, November 5, 2005
This review is from: GRE Mathematics (Graduate Record Examination Series, Gre-12) (Plastic Comb)
If you are offered this book for free, turn it down! Probably good for the Quantitative section of the General GRE, but for the Advanced GRE Math ?! It's unpardonably bad. The questions are so out-of-place and considering the steep $29:00 I paid, I wish I didn't buy it. I am looking for someone to steal my copy off me !
