5.0 out of 5 stars Do I Need the "Anniversary Edition?", January 13, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Mathematics Their Way: Complete Revised Anniversary Edition (Paperback)
I ordered the "Anniversary Edition," not knowing what made it different, really. It comes with the original spiral bound Math Their Way text as well as another book of daily lessons and a workbook of masters to run off for graphing, charting and other activities. If you're going to jump in the program, you'll need those masters. The great thing about this curriculum is it tells you everything you need to know theoretically and in practice. It gives you ideas on how to inexpensively collect learning materials and use everyday objects in your lessons. It's a little pricey, so I hope you're able to buy it with school money!

5.0 out of 5 stars Math Their Way a Must for Kindergarten, August 6, 2000

Mary Baratta-Lorton has put together a phenomenal math resource for teachers. A foundation for your math program is in this book. Lessons are easy to follow and often there is a section of why a particular skill is important for young children to learn. An excellent resource for K teachers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real Math, July 3, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Mathematics Their Way: Complete Revised Anniversary Edition (Paperback)
Learning these methods of teaching math was what finally helped me to understand number. It connected my everyday knowledge with the book learning I had memorized, but not understood. No one should be a college graduate before they connect with numbers in a meaningful way. This is the way mathematically gifted children teach themselves. It is the way we should teach our children.
