Blistering Rhodes Work 101: Good GRIEF does Russ Ferrante just TEAR IT UP here! I must've listened to this track five times in a row after I downloaded it. Yellowjackets was and is a premier jazz quartet, and this tune really showcased their talent. You can tell we're listening to guys who take their music very seriously, very philosophically, but they're having fun with it. They knew their craft inside and out, and just hit you straight up with this beauty. I simply stand in awe. You can't do that with a Rhodes piano, man! Oh yes you can.There's an intangible element to this jazz genre that I can only describe as flow. This track has the corner of the market on it. |
