Didn't do it for me, January 2, 2010
This was definitely not a favorite for me. I usually love Jaynice Maynard, but this book really annoyed me. First of all this is the same exact cover as Erin McCarthy's Mouth to Mouth trade paperback and I found that to be very annoying. Second of all it bothered me tremendously Nola had no problems having sex with three men--not together, but still juggling three men at one time. For some reason this really bothered me. How are you professing to love Tanner when still sleeping with Marc? It just didn't work for me. This is the first book that I can remember I didn't finish all in one sitting. I will continue to read Jaynice as I've loved all her previous works, but this one will not stay on the "keeper" shelf.

Smoking Hot Read, September 14, 2009
This review is from: Mating Game (Mass Market Paperback)
Mating Game, on shelves now, is the most recent release by Janice Maynard.
Nola Grainger has a successful photography business in Chicago, but it seems that all this might come to an end, when the terms of her grandmother's will are revealed. Although archaic, it is ironclad and leaves her no choice but to try and fulfill the terms her grandmother has set out. If she wants to inherit her ancestral home, Lochhaven, she must marry within thirty days and live in the small town of Resnick, Georgia for six months. So what's a girl to do?
Nola heads back to Resnick, intent on maybe rekindling a relationship with Billy Inman, her high school sweetheart. But Marc Overmeyer, her present boyfriend and lover, has decided that he wants to take their relationship to the next level and follows her south from Chicago. Upon arriving in town she soon meets smoking hot Tanner Nash, the handyman who has been fixing up her grandmother's dilapidated home. Now with three candidates, Nola must decide who would make the best husband. Her goal is a lifelong union and she is determined to choose a mate with whom she is compatible on all levels.
There is an element of mystery in this story that is new and different for Ms. Maynard. Someone in town is out to stop Nola from claiming her inheritance. Could it be one of the three potential husbands, or is there someone else that she is overlooking?
This contemporary romance is well written and flows seamlessly. In the end Nola does get her happily ever after, and the choice she makes is exactly right for her. It might be a stretch for some readers who believe in monogamous relationships, but if read with an open mind, letting the story work its way to its conclusion, this will be an enjoyable read.

Steamy and sexy, July 8, 2009
This review is from: Mating Game (Mass Market Paperback)
Janice Maynard's Mating Game takes romance to its edgiest.
Nola Grainger has built a good life for herself in Chicago. Her photography business has really taken off and she has a smoking hot lover in Marc Overmyer. Her ordered life is tossed up in the air when she hears the terms of her grandmothers will.
Nola must return to small town Resnich, Georgia and live there for 6 months. In order to inherit she must also marry within 30 days. Nola figures her best bet might be her old highschool sweetheart Billy Inman.
Add to that mix is the studly contractor Tanner Nash who is rehabbing her grandmothers old home.
Nola wants this marriage to be for keeps, so she wants to be sexually compatible with her mate. While she is trying to determine which of the three men is her perfect match someone is trying to harm her.
Mating Game has a different kind of heroine. Nola is a woman who knows her own mind and is determined to find her perfect match in all areas of a relationship. Janice Maynard blends the sensual along with the romantic suspense seamlessly and gives Nola her happy ever after.
