Editorial Reviews

Review

"FIVE STARS! Romantic science fiction fans will want to read this powerful deep tale (and its predecessor Forced Mate). ... Rowena Cherry is one of the best sub-genre writers due to her skill at placing the heroic characters in impossible scenarios as she has with the delightful Mating Net." Harriet Klausner, Affaire de Coeur

"FOUR AND A HALF MOONS! What can I say but FANTASTIC! .... If you're a fan of the author's Alien Djinn stories, you'll find that MATING NET is a requirement. Not only because it fills in some gaps in the mythology itself, but also because it's one excellent love story." Brenda Clark, MystiqueBooks

"This may have been short but it sure packed a wallop! I just hated that it was so short. Rowena's stories about Tigron and its people fascinate and I'm eagerly awaiting more stories!" Kathy Boswell, The Best Reviews

"Rowena Cherry had a vision, and it is brought forth beautifully again in the Mating Net. Filled with richness and intrigues, this short is a prequel to he

5.0 out of 5 stars Djolly good read! May 15, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
In Forced Mate, we went from Earth to a space ship and encountered macho gods a plenty. In Insufficient Mating Material, one of those gods got his comeuppance, and then we came back to Earth in Knight's Fork, and the knight definitely was forked!

But what happened to bring all this Djinn upheaval? That's what we find out in Mating Net, a novella in Rowena Cherry's series featuring chess puns. She has a dry wit and a sense of adventure that keeps you turning the page. Don't miss this prequel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Delightful April 12, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
I love Rowena Cherry's prose! The worlds she builds are terrific, complete and imaginative. Her characters--especially the hunky heroes--are fantastic.

Mating Net is a feast for the senses. You are either laughing or melting, and believe me this book takes you the gamet!

Strongly Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars good story and well written February 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This author is very good at making her characters and places come alive. She also crafts an exciting plot. While this story is romantic, it is not really sexy since the only sex scenes are when the bad guy is sadistically forcing it on the heroine. There are romantic parts between the hero and heroine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Huh? March 25, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
**spoiler alert** Reading this one felt like I had been the victim of a drive by. I was at the end still trying to figure out what the freck happened. Heroine is matched to marry the younger of twin princes. Fast forward, oldest prince is now in charge and since he feels so bad at being jipped out of his fated princess (got boinked and impregnated by his father, and died in childbirth) he decides to take his brother's girl since she's apparently too stupid to be able to tell them apart. After finding out what's happened, younger brother gets girl back and they go off for their HEA. (even though she's already had LOTS of sex with his brother, ewwww)

More About the Author

Rowena Cherry's "Mission Statement"

My goal as a Romance author is to give good value. I expect to provide my readers with six to eight hours of amusement, a couple of really good laughs, a romantic frisson or two from the sensual scenes, a thoroughly satisfying HEA, and something to think -or talk-- about when the book is finished.

I'm unreliably psychic. I've exceptionally good hearing, an eye for detail, and a near-photographic memory. And, I've lurked and observed from some of the world's most glamorous and privileged vantage points.

I've played chess in an exhibition match against a Grand Master in the stately home of a Lord, and duplicate bridge for money (disastrously) in Marbella, dined aboard a sheikh's yacht in the Puerto Jose Banus, and received the gold level of the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award inside Buckingham Palace, been driven in pace cars at the Indy 500, picked the brains of rocket scientists and rock stars???.and much more.

My life so far has been fantastic inspiration for romance novel scenes and alien-world building.
