A no nonsense book on the great sculpture of Matisse.
Lots of images, good printing and photography. Highly
recommended for professionals and the general art loving
public alike.

Matisse was as good a sculptor as he was a painter - which is to say, a genius. His work is captured very effectively here in high quality images, in a large format book. It's as good as you can get without standing in front of the originals. There are drawings and paintings that relate to the sculptures, and there are a few images of the sculptures of Degas, Rodin, Maillol and others, which are also very beautiful. The text is also interesting and informative. I have plenty of excellent books on the works of Matisse - this is right up there with the best of them.
