This shampoo is lightweight and very rich at the same time. It only takes about a quarter sized amount of product to really lather-up your hair (and I have long hair). One bottle of this shampoo lasts a long time. It really leaves your hair squeaky clean. The scent is nice, the typical salon scent. It rinses out really clean and easily, even in hard water. It really does seem to give my fine hair more body and volume. I'm very happy overall with this.

I've used this shampoo for years but it appears to be disappearing from local store shelves in my area. Considering the price, I believe it works as good as many of the more expensive shampoos claiming they are "volumizing," "bodifying" etc.

Hair type: fine straight black hair, shoulder length, normal/oily

It cleans well, yet very moisturizing, a bit too moisturizing for normal/oily hair in my opinion. I found it weights down my hair a lot, and the roots feel greasy if I don't shampoo daily. The smell is okay, the texture is creamy and foams well.

The product is very thick and produces a very good lather. However, my hair doesn't feel squeaky clean afterwards. It feels clean, but it's not the shampoo I would use if I didn't wash my hair for more than a day or two and had product in it. Yes, it does give body; but, I tend to use this shampoo if I need to wash my hair a second day in a row (I usually wash 3 times per week). Also, my hair is fine and highlighted. I won't be purchasing again because it's just ok. I much prefer the Matrix Amplifying shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair that I purchased last week. That's great stuff!
