From the Manufacturer
This 10-inch, 40-tooth super rip blade provides fast, smooth cuts with less drag and less waste. This hand-tensioned and balanced blade has a 54 Rockwell hardness plate and C-9 (94 Diamond hardness) carbide for excellent performance and durability. By using quality materials to make a non-brittle plate that is harder than that of other blades, Matsushita blades are less apt to wobble or fracture. Having carbide teeth with C-9 (94 Diamond) hardness also means this blade will last longer than other blades. Unlike most blades which are only top ground, Matsushita utilizes a unique three-step grinding process to bevel the top and face of the tooth. This results in excellent smoothness with little, if any tearing, chipping, or feathering of the cut stock. Super Rip blades provide nice, smooth, thin cuts. They are often used in gang ripping where material costs are important. Rip blades can occasionally be used for some crosscutting. They have too much hook for use with mitre box saws, but are great for ripping on table saws. Matsushita thin kerf blades are highly durable and provide fast, smooth cuts with less drag and less waste.
