Book Description

When he was only sixteen, Matt Damon informed his parents that he was "ready to go professional" with his acting. Since then, he has become one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. After a breakthrough performance in Courage Under Fire, he won the starring role of an idealistic young lawyer opposite Claire Danes in The Rainmaker.

With his acting career on the rise, Matt concentrated on selling the script he and best friend Ben Affleck had begun while Matt was at Harvard. That film, Good Will Hunting, earned them a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award® for Best Original Screenplay, in addition to a Best Actor nomination for Matt's portrayal of a genius janitor. A chance meeting with Steven Spielberg led to Matt's title role in Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks.

Now this down-to-earth actor is looking to the future, tackling roles in several high-profile films, including Kevin Smith's Dogma and Anthony Minghella's (The English Patient) next project. Get the scoop on this boy from Boston who has taken over the Hollywood scene!

This review is from: Matt Damon a Biography (Paperback)
Without a doubt, Matt Damon is one of the most exciting new faces to have recently entered the Hollywood scene. This book does a terrific job of balancing the cultural influences that created Mr. Damon's charming sensibility, with an insider's take at Matt's past, present and future projects. Whether you are shopping for an adoring child, or you find yourself strangley curious about this rising new star, I whole-heartedly reccomend this "perfect" summer read.

I think Matt Damon is a great influence on young adults. Any one who can write like him, act like him, and be so all together charming has my vote! Yeah, Leo's cute, but his head is way up in the clouds! And he can't write like Matt!! I loved this book, I also bought Golden Boy;a biography and Matt Damon and Ben Affleck;on and off screen I recomend them all!!
