Not worth it. July 16, 2009
I bought the black version of this bag in February. Over the past few months, this is what I've noticed...

The upsides? It goes with nearly everything (in my wardrobe, at least), it has plenty of room for books and papers for my long morning commute, and best of all... It can handle the rain.

I don't know about everyone else but it can get really rainy in Virginia, come spring. While this bag is by no means waterproof, the outer material has a plastic finish. My main point? You won't have to clutch your bag like a football to keep it safe under your umbrella.

The downsides? It lasted all but four months for me. I ended up buying a replacement for it in early June. The thread holding the top zipper in place? Already unraveled. Bits of the outer material have ripped off. I think it may have been because of the plastic finish? I'm not sure. It's still functional, but it looks like a kitten used it as a scratching post. Beyond that, the description is misleading. It is not sturdy in any way, shape or form. It holds its shape about as well as a canvas tote would. Really. Without the tissue paper stuffing, it looks like it's imploded.

Bottom line: Would I buy this bag again? No. Would I buy from this brand again? If the bags cost about 75% less, maybe. I think that handbags are an investment. This was a bad one. It looked like it was cheaply made and didn't last NEARLY as long as I was hoping it would. What a shame.

When this style first came out, it was $160 for both black and white. Not 200+! That's just not fair!
