5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Card Game When Family Or Friends Get Together, December 11, 2004

This review is from: Skip-Bo Deluxe Card Game (Toy)
Created by the makers of Uno, Skip Bo has that great "lets play" feeling. It combines skill, strategy and, in some cases, a lot of luck. The players try to be the first to use up all the cards in their Stock Pile by playing them on Building Piles in numerical sequence, 1 through 12. On the end of your turn though, you must discard a card on one of YOUR OWN discard piles (max of four). Here is where you MUST use all your skills and strategy since you will be able to use only the card on the top of each pile in combination with your hand cards to deplete your Stock Pile. Cool, huh? Well it gets better! Skip Bo cards act as Wild Cards to add excitement to play. Use them correctly and you could be making all these combinations while your opponents sit there watching your Stock Pile get smaller and smaller wondering that your IQ is must be over 140. And nothing beats the look on their faces you turn over your last Stock Pile card to discover it was a Skip Bo card. It's like winning in Texas Hold-em on the river card. OUCH! You will have awesome fun playing this game. And even tough it's a game with numbers; you do not have to sit quietly while the players think. Au contraire, talking, laughing and making jokes is just part of the fun. What's not to love about this game?

DELUXE EDITION: This edition is very nice with a score pad, card tray and a game board that has reserved spaces designed for the four Building Piles and Discard Piles for up to four players. Since Skip Bo can be played with up to six players the Deluxe Edition Board falls a little short. I do believe this edition is still worth buying. It is perfect for up to four players and very useful in keeping a place for the Building piles if played by more. Great game, great edition, extremely educational and lots and lots of fun. Worthy of a Greatest Games Ever Made Award. Have Fun!

If you love Skip-Bo your gonna love this new deluxe version. This game is much neater with the board and gives you a little more direction, the added scoring cards are great too. This game is easy to play, and a great learning tool for youngsters. This is a great addition to any families set of games.

I first played this game over my aunt/uncle's house. They had a version from 1965. I immediately searched for it and found it on Amazon and now have my own copy. It's tons of fun, for all ages. It makes for a great family night playing Skip-Bo. Very easy to learn and you can have hours of fun!

I bought 3 for my Mom and her friends. She could not find this game anywhere in the store and was very very very happy that I found it on Amazon and for the price that it was listed.

This is such a classic game, great for younger kids or adults and it's still just as fun as it ever was.

4.0 out of 5 stars Skip Bo Deluxe, January 31, 2009

The only thing I was disappointed about in the Deluxe Skip Bo game was the fact that no words are printed on the playing board. I noticed on the box that it is in English as well as French -- I would have preferred to have the boxes on the board designated as to what they are for -- especially for someone just learning the game, such as my husband.

My husband and I are retired and play skipbo and keep score up to 500 points. Then we start a new game. We each have our own system for playing.
We would like to know if the Deluxe game has plastic cards.
My mother and brother got us started on the game. So the whole family is playing. We also got 3 another couples started on the game
