3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, quick but not much strategy
It is fun to play a game where you have to work together, quickly, to achieve a result. It takes effort the first couple of times to make it work because there is no learning curve, the clock ticks down no matter what. (If you have impatient types in your crowd, this is sure to set them off.) I just wish there was a bit more strategy to it; you have to strategize to...

This is a well-thought out, finely balanced, sturdy, complex yet easy to learn board game -- one where all the players must cooperate to win. Don't let the title or box art fool you; this is a revolutionary game. The object of the game is to find the four keys hidden beneath boobytraps to open the safe. Sounds routine, but the gameplay takes this game to a whole new dimension. And it is truly thrilling to race back to the safe (making sure to evade the patrol dog and guard), inserting the four key tiles in the safe's key slots, and 'cracking the safe' before your time runs out and the alarm is alerted. Buy this immediately. You, your kids, your parents -- everyone -- will LOVE this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Fun for the Whole Family, November 19, 2003

This is a great game that is never the same twice. The gameplay is fun and almost predictable on the surface, but once you begin to play the game you realize all the intricate parts that make it unique, though still not too complicated.

It's remarkably exciting when you have the guard coming from one part of the building and the dog from the other, while you and your partners figure out how to get to the last booby trapped room and get the final key.

The one thing I can't get over about this game, is that it has hooked every member of my family. Everyone from my 14 yr. old brother, to my 40 something yr. old parents. This is a great game for everyone to play and I suggest you buy it yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun without Competition!, November 23, 2003

Finally a game that is great fun, but not competitive. The educational value comes from teaching children how effectively people can work as a team. That may be the most valuable lesson they can learn since it applies to so many areas throughout life. They get enough competition in school.

Our family has had so much fun playing this game. You play against the clock so you are always trying to beat your last time. However, you can only do well if you cooperate with your teammates.

It's also a good game because you can play in about a half hour (it's timed for 30 minutes) so you can easily fit it in as a short after-dinner family game that's easy to set up and easy to put away.

Especially for kids who hate to be the one that loses a game. Everyone playing is on the same team. This is one of the few original games. My kids wanted to play it over and over and over. Finally I had to make them go to bed. Most games I play with my kids I go through the motions and play just because they want to.
This game is different. I actually like to play it. Alot of fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Family Game!, February 16, 2004

If you have children, then you know how much fun family fun night can be.... At the same time, most games end with someone "winning" and someone "losing", and depending on your child(ren), this can be a ugly end to a fun evening. So, what can you do?

Get this game!

This game is designed so that you work together as a team. If your "team" can get all of the keys and turn the clock off within the time limit, then you ALL win! If not, you all lose together. The game is quick enough that you can play several times. It never lasts longer than 30 minutes. But, it is fun, and exciting. You'll be sharing key items with one another to keep the team going. You can not finish it and leave a team-mate behind. You must all succeed together.

My daughter is 8 and can understand this game well. I'd say that even a 5 year-old could potentially play so long as they are playing with adult team members.

This is a very excellent game with a different idea.... To have everyone win!

The greatest part of this game is the whole family has to play as a team to win. This is very addicting, the best family game around.

As a parent you've certainly had experience playing board games with your kids. Find one that's fun for your seven year old and it's not that interesting for the teenager. If the boys find it challenging, the girls won't - or vice versa. Finally someone has designed a game that's clever, well structured, and exciting for just about everyone - and you can't play for longer than 30 minutes!

The best part is that everyone must play cooperatively because the only way to win is to collectively beat the timer. It was so gratifying to see my 7 year old pass up her chance to defeat the killer bees booby trap and instead use her turn to rescue her father from jail. Games that encourage children to work as a team and also offer this kind of intensity (and as the timer ticks down it certainly gets intense)are rare. The artwork on the box cover is awful and makes the game look silly, but don't let that dissuade you from trying this excellent game.

My only criticism is that the directions are not particularily well written. This is unfortunaate as there are quite a few elements to the game (tools cards, booby traps, guard and guard dog, a helpful robot, secret passages, and keys)and it takes a while to absorb all this information. But don't let that discourage you from playing. It's great fun!

(If you have impatient types in your crowd, this is sure to set them off.) I just wish there was a bit more strategy to it; you have to strategize to figure out when to use certain tools as well as who will try to go where to avoid the guard and the dog. But a roll of the dice and you're toast. The directions are not particularly well-written so read them carefully - if, when you are playing, things don't make sense, reread the directions.

I played this game with my kids, two 10 yr olds and a 15 yr old. We all enjoyed it. I think the concept of all players working as a team is a good idea. If you are able to crack the safe then ALL players win. If you don't crack the safe then NOBODY wins. It's an easier disappiontment for younger children if they don't crack the safe (win).
