She is beautiful but the outfits are frustrating!, November 21, 2005

My 5 year old daughter received this doll for her b-day. I have been very frustrated with how the outfits snap off easily and the wings don't stay on very well. Sometimes I can't even figure out how to keep the skirt on, let alone my 5 year old! Her leg decorations (whatever it is called on her calves) don't stay on at all. She is very beautiful but we are very disappointed with the snap on clothing.

Absolutely Frustrating!, October 20, 2005

My 3 1/2 year old HAD to have this doll and does enjoy it somewhat. But she is so often frustrated by the wings falling off, skirt falling off and the shoes(?) that NEVER stay on. And I'm constantly frustrated by having to help her put the clothes on. This might be a Barbie for an older girl who can manage the clothes herself, but I even have a time getting them on and getting them to stay! Also, the hair feels rather greasy. My daughter likes that the doll glows - but it just looks weird to me.

A very Different Barbie..., July 14, 2005

This Doll is not like your average Barbie doll. For starters Her Face mold is very different and actually very beautiful! Her Body is not made of rubber but actually out of heavy plastic, this may be a good/bad thing depending on who you are buying the doll for. This means you cannot bend her legs at all.
The doll's midsection and thighs are transparent with silver stars drawn on it; you can clearly see all the electrical wires on the inside that are used to light the doll up. The doll lights up in red and blue; her Stomach lights up blue and her legs light up in red, this lasts for about 20 seconds. The hair is very, VERY crunchy; a huge amount of gel went into her hair which makes brushing it a bit of a challenge.
The doll has those dreadful snap on fashions that can easily break. The pink outfit the doll is dressed in, comes off way too easily and doesn't stay on for long. It actually got to a point that I had to take off the pink outfit and put on the bronzy second outfit just so that the doll would have some clothes on. The wings are designed to be taken off or put back on which is also a good thing, especially for children who may want a fairy one min and a regular Barbie the next. Speaking of children this doll has a few pieces that can break easily and get lost far too quick. Although the box says 3+ it may be better for those 5 and over,at 17.99 a 5yr old may be able to appreciate it a bit more. If your pink outfit doesn't stay on, you can probably do what I did. Turn the pink skirt upside down and place it on the dolls head like a funky sort of crown. It may sound a bit silly but it actually looks like it is part of the doll. lol
Despite the few annoyances that exist, this doll is the most unique and creative doll out of the whole Fairytopia bunch! A total must have for any Fairytopia lover!
