4.0 out of 5 stars Super fun game!
This game is really fun to play with a big group of people. The only drawback is that there are no refill cards to buy for this game. The cards are printed on both sides so there are quite a few to play with. However, my family and I loved it so much we went through all of the cards in one night. It is a really fun game. I only wish they would have made more cards to play.

3.0 out of 5 stars Blurt a little too simple
After receiving this as a Christmas gift, we tried several times to play. It wasn't difficult to learn, but it wasn't that great either. This game is sort of like a backwards version of "balderdash". It could have a added layer of vocabulary learning in a school setting. But with just a small family, it wasn't our favorite game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute game for yound and old, March 11, 2007
This review is from: Blurt (Toy)
This is a really fun and educational game that is not boring!! Players really should be at a similar age level, or it tends to be unfair. The only problem we had, was the instructions did not divuldge what steps to take if no one answered the question correctly. It turned into a huge debate whether to simply ask another question,(which is somewhat unfair to the player asking the question)or move on to the next player. We ended up treating it as a "challenge" which is described in the instructions. Other than that, I really liked the game!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loads of fun, January 10, 2007

My daughter played this game at a friend's house and couldn't stop talking about they fun they had. When we received the game, our family played for hours. It is a fun game because, as with other games, you don't have to play as a team. It is fun to see how fast you can respond to a defintion. It was fun for all ages, we had kids from age 10 to adults of 60+ playing. It is nice that they include an easier version for the younger kids so everyone can play at the same time. Blurt can help younger players expand their vocabulary and learn the meaning of words they may not hear everyday. Our family gets together each month for a family game night and I think we will be playing Blurt often.

4.0 out of 5 stars Think fast or you're toast, October 2, 2009

Blurt is one of the most popular games in my Wednesday night gaming group. We're rather bright and quick, so we rarely get a word that's not guessed, but if we do, we just move on to the next card. Often we have three or four players on the same color square, which allows to switch off, if one of the players trailing gets it right. This game can get intense, so in our group, we allow one guess per word, if you're wrong you're out till the next word. This gives everyone a chance at the word.

This game is similar to ASAP, a game that came out in the 90s. One flaw with the game is that people who are loud and outspoken will be heard over soft spoken people. But other than that, a great party game that makes you think fast. In Blurt, if you snooze, you lose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Please make some refills!, December 9, 2008

BLURT! was so fun we ran through all of the cards in one night. Oh yeah, if you have a big enough party, you will go through cards like potato chips.

The game is extremely simple. Everyone takes turns being a reader, they read the definition of the word on the card and then people proceed to blurt out the word being defined. The cards have two sides, one side being easier than the other. As you get an answer correct you roll the die and advance. But even if you are a whiz you aren't safe. A challenge can occur when two people are on the same colored space.

For example: Player "A" is just tearing it up and is advancing to the finish very fast so he's way out in front. Player "B" is barely out of start. Player "B" luckily gets an answer right and advances to a space that is the same color as the one Player "A" is on (light years ahead). Player "B" can challenge Player "A" mano e mano and if Player "B" blurts the correct answer out first, then they trade places. If Player "B" doesn't blurt out the correct answer first, then oh well, he hasn't lost anything.

I know, it doesn't sound fair at all does it? But, this keeps the game interesting. The one in front is never at rest because he/she is always being challenged and the ones behind are always hoping to challenge to get a free pass to the front of the line.

Great game, the words aren't all that difficult, they just need to come out with some refills.

I purchased Blurt to play with my adult children. When younger grandkids came, ages almost 8 and almost 10, we all had a lot of fun, too. It can get noisy with players competing to say their answer first!

It is pricey.

Good choice for a fun game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blurt - Fun for all ages, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Blurt (Toy)
Blurt is a fun game that anyone can play. It can get to be a bit fast paced...but that's what makes it so much fun! It also includes the Junior version of blurt for really small children. It is a great family/learning game.
