Product Description

Editorial Review

Sort of a pared-down version of The Sims computer game, Pixel Chix provides grade-school girls with a virtual buddy whose every move they can control. Residing in a palatial Beverly Hills mansion, this Pixel Chick is a 2-dimensional LCD image imposed on a background with 3-dimensional furniture. Five action buttons on the front program the Pixel Chix pal to play, eat, change clothes, go out, or go to sleep, and "yes" and "no" buttons let girls answer the Pixel Chick’s questions. As long as girls are playing with their chick, she is happy; but ignore her, and she gives her owner a lot of ‘tude by anxiously tapping her foot and clearing her throat. Attentive owners will continue to advance along the 5-level gaming system and accumulate more cool stuff for their Pixel Chix pal. However, neglecting the pal causes her to lose all her possessions and, eventually, her screen darkens and she splits. Connecting two Pixel Chix houses together lets virtual friends visit one another while hooking three or more together causes the pals to have a multi-caller phone chat or perform a dance together. While thoroughly entertaining for young girls, parents may tire of hearing the loud conga music or the word "Fabulous!" spoken over and over again. The house runs on three "AAA" batteries, which are included with purchase. --Cristina Vaamonde

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Cool Toy!, November 30, 2005
A Kid's Review
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

I just got this toy today, and boy does it rock! Even though the picture says you get a brown haired pixel chick, it really has a blond one. Basically you can tell your pixel girl what to do and when. Beware though if you don't give her attention she does have an attitude about it! You can also dress her and she will do things based on how you dressed her. There are 7 buttons of play. Yes, No, Bed, Eat, Dress, Play, and Go Out. Those are all the buttons. I am 12 and I love this toy. So I reccomend getting it! Also the time and wheather changes as well. You also have to set the game clock and can reset it if you mess up. There are also tons of things to do. Right now under play I can play catch with my dog, play with the cat, use a magic 8 ball, watch tv, dance to the radio, call a friend, feed and play a game with the fish, and play my guitar. There are also other things to unlock. What secrets are in your pixel chick? Get one to find out! Brieonna

5.0 out of 5 stars My Kids Love It, November 10, 2005
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Pixel Chix DollHouse #2 (Toy)
I have 9 and 5 year old girls, and they love this toy. We have found ourselves laughing quite a bit. If your kids like the "virtual pet" toys, this is a must have.

One bit of advice.. the instructions state that the batteries that are included are for demonstration purposes only (so they won't last long). I would recommend putting in new batteries before starting to play.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best toy in the world!!!!!, July 7, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Pixel Chix DollHouse #2 (Toy)
I bought my Pixel Chix and called her Rehtse. She looks about 10 to me, and I'm a 10 year old girl!!!!!!! YIPPEE! Yeah and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Pixel CHIX because she loves me! She's only broken up with me twice when I sent her outside in her bikini when it was a stormy day and when I put her to bed at 3 o clock to go to a party!!!!! You really can't wait a single second when you have a pixel chix! leave her for a few secs and she sighs and taps her foot impatiently. I was on level 5 in 1 day because I played with her for most of it and now I'm going to give you decorating tips!!!

DECORATING PIXEL CHIX TIPS:
1. You can use bright and funky girly stickers or use a sticker maker (the Cella one works well) to make special Pixel Chix ones.
2. You can use clear nail polish with glitter in, its so cool and makes your pixel chix sparkle!
3.You can draw swirls round the buttons!
4.Bend glittery red pipe-cleaners around the screen!
5.Draw and then cut-out some beautiful flowers on a window ledge and stick it under the Pixel Chix's window.

Hope you found them helpful!

Now I'm going to say a strange personal experience:

I got this toy on Christmas Eve and ABSOLUTELY ADORED it!! I was def up with it after a day, of course on Christmas toy i was doing other things but i got bored the day after that then. and i was really freaked out because the toy should not be boring. but i had passed the levels. so for a few days i put it up for rent. my best friend eva rented it for one night and had a sleepover with it and so did my best friend ever in the world Mia!
This pixel chix was put away for about 6 months without use but then i put new batteries in it just recently and its sooooooooooooo FUN FUN FUN the second time!!!!! I adore Rehtse! She has soooo much stuff! She has loads of things to name! Here they are:
Thing, Name,
Pixel Chix / Rehtse
Puppy / Cutie
Kitten / Ginger
Goldfish / Bubbles
Teddy bear / Teddy
Her friend / Aim

The weather is always changing and here are some funny animations she does:

Slips over her banana skin!
Cries at sad movies!
A mouse came in and she screamed and jumped on the table!
Slid down the banister!
Spilt her ice-cream everywhere!
Got herself a tan in her bikini!
She does her homework and can go to school in uniform!
She can go to a rock concert!
She puts on ballet shows!
She sings professionally!
She dances professionally!
She hums!
She gives you attitude!
She's always whistling!
She chats on her phone!
She always watches one continuous program on TV!
She does roller skating!
She gets fat from eating and excersises it off!
She does excersises!
She feeds her pets!

SPECIAL BONUS!!!!!!!!!!!

You get to see 3 people without connecting! Here they are:

Her boyfriend: Dress her up in her date outfit and then make her go outside and she picks up the phone, whispers "What's up?" and then she says in a much cheerier tone "What should we do?" Then she puts it down, clearly very happy with her call and sits on the couch to wait for him to pick her up. The doorbell rings and she gets up to see him. When she opens the door you see him pass her a rose, "Thank you" she says and they go out together. When she comes back in hearts are flying everywhere and she is cradling her rose! I called her boyfriend Yrrah!
Her best friend: When you put her in a sexy disco outfit then send her outside she goes to the phone, calls her bezzie and says "Lets go to a party!" Her friend (she has black hair that curls at the end and a matching disco outfit) rings the doorbell and when pixel chix go to her their mouths fall open, they look at each other and then they give each other a big hug before going out and then pixel chix comes out quite content and happy with the party!
Pizza deliverer: When you are on level 5 and you click 'food' she asks "should i order out?" you have to click yes and then she phones them and says, "1 large pizza thank you" and the doorbell rings and she answers it, takes a pizza from a cheery pizza lady and sits down to eat it.
Goldfish deliverer: You may be aware of the fishy game where it jumps out of its bowl and you have to catch it, if you don't manage it, a cute fish angel flies up to fish-heaven and a few seconds later the door-bell rings. rehtse answers it and a goldfish deliverer gives her a new goldifish and the bowl and its water!
hope you found this helpful! bye!
