4.0 out of 5 stars Without the batteries it's a great toy for special needs
I have been searching for regular trucks that my two sons that have a degenerative neuromuscular disease along with Autism could play with. Most have gadgets that could be bitten off, or make loud noises without a volume button etc. This truck once the batteries were taken out is wonderful. Usually my son has a toy torn up within 24 hours of receiving it. This truck is...

2.0 out of 5 stars $30?? REALLY???
Let me start by saying this is a really cute toy. It makes real sounds & has a little piece of "garbage" that you dump in the truck. That being said, the garbage was lost the 1st night, the noises are obnoxious, it is pretty small & is plastic. My son loves it though & it is well worth the price I spent on it. I am trying to find another one for my nephew who has not let...

This truck is still going strong after a week or so. He's not been able to bite anything off of it. And it's been rugged enough to endure being thrown down and sat on etc. My son puts things in the back bucket part and hauls them around and he loves it. If you are looking for a toy that reminds you of cars and trucks they made back in the early 1970's that didn't "do anything" but was still durable and fun to play with this line of trucks is it. We just took it out of the package and took the batteries out before we wrapped it up for the gift. That way our sons just took them out of the big box we had them in and begun to play. If you do leave the batteries in I would have to say make sure you have ear muffs. As this volume is LOUD!! and no way of turning it down! Way to loud for even a normal child to listen to as they play. That is the downfall to play with it "as is" but children used to electrionic things it probably won't phase them. But if you are purchasing it for a medically challeged child I would recommend not pushing the things that make the sounds around the child because then they will not want to play with it. Wait until you take the batteries out then it will be a fun and enjoyable toy for them. I will be purchasing more in this line of cars and trucks for them for Christmas.

If your kids are like mine and they are facinated with the garbage truck then this is the toy for you. My twins received many toys for their 3rd birthday, but both of them like this one the best. It has kept them busy for hours. This truck is a mini version of the truck that comes to pick up our trash, which is pretty cool.

The truck was much smaller than I had imagined.. I was a little surprised considering the price of it.. But it is a very well made toy and my grandson loves it. It is actually a great size for a 2 year old as some of the larger trucks are hard for the little ones to handle. I was a little disapointed at first, but after watching him play with it..and seeing the quality of the toy I was OK with it..

I am trying to find another one for my nephew who has not let it out of his hands since he arrived today. But it is NOT worth the price it is listed for on here. I'm not sure what is with Amazon sellers lately, but they are becoming ridiculously overpriced. The new ebay. I got this truck at Kohl's where the original price was $15.99. And anybody who shops at Kohl's knows their toys are way overpriced there to begin with. They were having a sale & I got it for under $11. Well worth it. Not at all worth nearly $30. Save your money & go get a garbage truck 5x the size from toys r us or walmart. If you can find this between $10-$15, go for it. I think you'll be happy!

If your little guy likes trucks, especially Garbage trucks. This is a must buy. My son loves his Garbage truck. It is the perfect size for little hands but not too small for his imagination.

Purchased this for my 2 year old nephew. One of the highlights of his day is watching the (real life) garbage truck empty the dumpster outside his apartment. He loved this and played with it constantly for weeks. Also its a little loud and annoyed my brother so that was a bonus!

I bought this toy for my grandson because he gets very excited each week when the trash truck comes to his house. When he opened it, he was very excited to play with it and has had a lot of fun with it ~

This is super cute & resembles a real trash truck which is what liked most. My only real complaint is the price. I don't mind paying $40 for a truck...if only it were a little bigger & more durable :-)

I purchased this WM Trash truck for my 6 year old son for Christmas. He has been completely fascinated by the world of trash truck mechanics since age 2 including running to the windows to watch the truck as it arrives in the neighborhood and empties all of the garbage cans on the block. He has a collection of 12 trash trucks of all shapes, sizes, colors, sounds and accessories. He's even into telling me the difference between them as "front-loaders, back-loaders, side-loaders, etc. and whether they are "pretend" versus "actual sanitation company-named" trucks. He sets up pretend neighborhoods of blocks, buildings, bathroom-size rinse cups as more garbage cans and crumples up paper, styrofoam, cardboard etc...to make trash that his trucks can empty. He even pulls up trash truck videos on You-Tube as he uses his imagination to re-inact the disposal scenes. So, you've got a trash truck expert in the house? They would have to have this.

SO, when he asks for a real "WM Green and White Front-Loader" trash truck and I ask why? You already have so many, what's different about this one? He says "well, its' by WM like the real trash truck in the street mommy". Well, if it meant that much to him to add to his collection- I had to purchase it. Yes, I know it's WAY SMALLER than I imagined being that I paid $58.00 for it and expected it to have flashing lights other than just the whirring sounds as the front-arm retracts back emptying the dispenser and the back-up beeping sounds. Even though the cost was higher and I could have gotten any truck for way less, it was not the SPECIFIC one he was looking for, which made all the difference. He even asked Santa for the "green and white WM front-loader trash truck" for Christmas and that's exactly what he was expecting. It is strong, durable and he has been playing with it everyday since Christmas for at least 2-3 hours along with all of his other trucks in the collection and couldn't be happier. I may have been concerned about the small size but it didn't matter to him, he was content that Santa had delivered. That makes every cent spent worth it!
