Dolls always look better in the picture, we all know that, but this one in particular is very deceiving. The quality of the dress and overall product looks ten time better in the picture than what you actually get.

If you are looking for an excellent Mary Poppins to complete your collection, look for the Jolly Holiday Edition released several years ago. Her likeness to Julie Andrews is much better and the dress and overall product are a lot nicer. If you can't find her here, try e-bay.

I will say they did an excellent job with the Bert Doll. That one gets 5 stars.

This beautiful new 'Pink Label' Barbie collectors doll features the classic Disney version of "Mary Poppins". She's dressed in the 'Jolly Holiday' costume and comes complete with matching white net gloves, "lace-up" boots, a hat trimmed with pink roses and, of course, trademark parrot head umbrella! Her skirt appears to be very full, with a light apricot petticoat.

The head sculpt is quite lovely; designers really caught a lot of Julie Andrews with this doll. The doll is presented, beautifully posed against a cardboard cutout of Mary's purple carousel horse, in a full-length clear plastic windowbox, so you really don't have to "de-box" this doll to fully appreciate her. As a general rule, I don't take my dolls out of their boxes, but should you wish to, there's a bonus dollstand included in the package (along with Certificate of Authenticity).

If you're a collector of Disney dolls, this classic "Mary Poppins" will be a charming addition. Be sure to also seek out the "Bert" companion doll!

This doll is a beautiful addition to any collector or novice with barbie dolls. It makes for a great gift for any little or big girls alike. Mary Poppins is a classic movie ..... don't miss out on this investment! I would highly recommend this item. A+

I recently purchased this doll for my 3 year old daughter who is obsessed with the Mary Poppins movie. While it is intended for older children (ages 6 and up, which I didn't realize) and has a lot of pieces to it with all of the accessories (gloves, umbrella), my daughter LOVES it! She calls it "My Mary" and carries it around with her constantly and even sleeps with it. The doll is high quality and made with a lot of attention to detail. I think it's probably the doll that most resembles Julie Andrews of all that are out there. The Bert doll also is great.

I bought this Barbie as a gift and she loved it. It was almost too nice to take out of the box, but I told her it's to play with - even though it is collectible.

We bought all the Mary Poppins dolls (Mary, Bert, Jane and Michae)for my daughter who just loves them. The clothing details are amazing. A big plus is this doll moves easily and bends at the knees and arms. Her head did pop off once but my husband was able to fix it and put it back together. Once off the gloves are a bear to put back on and the umbrella doesn't open up. The box has these great paper horses which I cut out and laminated and my daughter loves taking all the Mary Poppins dolls for rides on their horses. Overall this is a great doll for any child who loves Mary Poppins.

My 2 year daughter became interested in Mary Poppins watching the movie's musical scenes on You Tube. She fell so in love with Mary Poppins we've added all things Mary to our collections, including this doll. One thing I didn't catch in the description is that she has moveable joints on every part of her (except wrists and ankles!) which can make it hard to play with because she's so flexible and always bending LOL. She is made of hard hollow plastic not the rubber that most Barbies are made of so she's slightly lighter weight. Her costume looks so much like in the movie, EXCEPT the hat. The dolls hat has more flowers and doesn't lay flat like the hat in the movie but lays angled up in the back so as to accomodate the dolls high bun. Not a big deal but those are the things I noticed.

The umbrella she comes with is not a working model.

One reviewer was disappointed it didn't look as good in person. IMO it is exactly what it shows and says it is. And if it is for a collector than [...] is a great price. And if it's for a toy than it's not much more than your average Barbie. But it's more fun because (in our case) your child will feel they "know" about the Barbie and will therefore try to play our scenes or songs from the movie, offering wonderful imaginative play to their day.

The face was well molded to resemble the features of Julie Andrews, so much so that when you look at it you SEE Julie Andrews (notice the slight cleft in the brow!).

Overall a great buy. Sturdy, authentic, beautiful and a great price. I actually priced it at Wal-Mart and it was more. Considering buying the Bert doll as well but we'll see. Have to see how long this Mary Poppins phase lasts LOL.
