This was a gift for my daughter this past Christmas - it was well received though it took a while to set up as you had to apply all the stickers (Mattel - it would be a joy to all parents plus look a lot better if the designs were simply printed on)

She enjoyed playing with it and it had plenty to keep her occupied - a jacuzzi, lots of different accessories lend well to imaginative play, music , sound effects and lights. And to be fair, this was one of her favorite toys that was played with frequently.

The issue was durability. Barbie toys are often not the most durable, but some are worse than others and this unfortunately fell into that category. The ship opens up in the center, and within a short 4 month period of careful play, was not lining up correctly or shutting as it should. The top which opens would spring back up and by 6 months refused to close at all.

Its a shame as this is a fun toy for little girls. Right now the price is pretty low so its a good deal for the money, but really, it would be nice if Barbie products with a big name like mattel behind them, could have the quality to go with the creativity!

Yes the music is way too loud but its that way on any barbie toy, my 9 yr old has the barbie house that also makes alot loud sounds like the toilet flushing & disco music so I just close her door when she is playing w/ it. She really wanted this boat but I thought $70 was way too much for it so I waited for the price to go down and Amazon came through for me, I got it for $40 w/ free shipping. Gotta love barbie & Amazon.

My 5 year old daughter got this for Christmas. She has played with it every day since then and absolutely loves it. It stores nice and neatly on the shelf (with everything inside the ship!!) And is easy to open and set up for play. She loves the fact that she can either make a water slide or drop down the disco ball for dancing.

I LOVE the frustration free packaging. I had the boat out and ready for play in no time. The hardest part was the precision sticker placing. But that went very smoothly. The boat makes 3 sounds - animal noises (dolphins and birds), a ship horn, and disco music. None are too loud or down right annoying. All in all I would recommend this to a friend!

I got this Barbie Party Cruise ship for my 8 yo. for Christmas & for her to share w/younger sisters (ages 5yo.& 3 1/2yo.)It's been a while since Christmas but, they still are enjoying it. More so now that her sisters are getting bigger. They actually have fun using it with other smaller dolls as well. Although, I haven't let them fill it with water yet I'm sure they will like that too. The quality is pretty good. Closing is a little challenging, it sort of snaps at hinges but her being older is not a problem. It offers plenty of play/imagination space but, I think I like the design of some of the older ships how they open a little better. But, I do see how it makes it easier for younger girls who might struggle with larger dolls & fitting them inside. I like how everything stores nicely inside with room for some extras & Barbies. It fits nicely on top of her portable closet & I'm sure would fit most shelves for tidying up. But, I will say this one stayed open for some time after Christmas before I was able to close it up for a bit:) Now it is back out for Spring play! Ohh... Almost forgot!!! They love the ship sounds, dolphin & dance music it plays! I laugh at how it reminds me of a 70's disco. LOL! My daughters favorite accessory is the dolphin that she lovingly named "Dinah" (after her grandma Diane) Thank you for the perfect Christmas gift! Lisa, from Ct.

Fun for a while, then the shine wears off. The neat thing is all fits inside the boat and locks up, so you don't have a bunch of accessories you need to find yet another place for. Glad I got it on sale. The regular almost $[...] buck price tag would be a bit high. She enjoys it, but think that when summer is here and she can take it outside and play more with the water feature, it will offer more enjoyment. Don't know if I would re-buy it, however.

I bought this for my 3 year old granddaughter and she loves it. She can manipulate it very well and her imagination is sparked to keep her playing for hours. It is versatile and should be a favorite of hers for some time to come. it is varied enough that she can also share and play with her friends with it. It is not too cumbersom or heavy for her to move and is self-contained so easy to clean up when play is done.

This is the most wonderful gift a little girl could receive. My 16 year old daughter helped my 7 year old put it together and they played for hours. The sound affects are wonderful. I'm really glad that I purchased this item.

Easy to open and no assenbly required. She took it out and started to play with it. She loves it and it is a must for any barbie lover!

I bought this for my niece last Christmas or the year before and she liked it a lot but there are a lot of tiny pieces that come with it. For instance the fridge food, dishes, fake food for the buffet table it is hard for a little girl under 7 to appreciate all of the little touches. She was also confused with the music selection because one of the tunes was disco (she has no idea what disco is) but overall it is a good toy and she liked it and had fun with it.

My daughter who is 8 asked for this ship for Christmas. She plays with it alot. She loves the disco ball and the pool the most. We were very happy with Amazon and will purchase again.
