My two year old loves his new helmet! On the right side you press the button for siren sounds, and that's his favorite. The left side lets you talk through the speaker, but he can't really hold it down long enough yet. He still loves it anyway. It seems to be quite durable, since it's holding up very well in our house. :D

1.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed January 8, 2009

This one was a real disappointment for my little Fire Chief. First off, the mask assembly is so heavy the whole helmet wants to keep falling forward over my son's eyes. Secondly, the adjustable plastic head band keeps pulling out of its sloppy press-fit "anchors" rendering the whole helmet useless. Lastly, the microphone feature isn't nearly loud enough. I could fix the anchors and maybe get the band to finally fit right but considering the other flaws I think this thing is headed for the attic. Too bad because it looks really cool and my boy is attracted to it only to get frustrated. I forget what I paid for this but whatever it was it was too much.

1.0 out of 5 stars It sucks :( April 13, 2009

The helmet rests on the bridge of my childs nose, and the plastic part that adjusts the helmet to fit the childs head pops out too easily. This in turn frustrates my child...and me because I have to fix it every ten seconds! ALl in all, the toy is awful. The service sending it was great though!

1.0 out of 5 stars What a disappointment! February 6, 2009

I agree with another reviewer that this one was a real disappointment for my little future firefighter. The plastic head band doesn't anchor well even when I adjusted the fitting of the band, the anchor would partially come right off the helmet and the band will stay wrapped around my son's head. He would start sceaming to take it off him. The way this mask is assembled was doomed from the beginning. The mask is so heavy the whole helmet wants to keep falling off my son's head. The mask piece of the helmet is okay until the whole entire thing came right off. Worthless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Firefighter pretend play fun! January 20, 2011

My 2 boys loved this helmet! Does the helmet have a perfect fit? No, but with a little creative use of packing tape on the inside straps it worked just fine. Using a knit beanie hat under it may also help with fit issues. It has held up quite well to being tossed around in the toy bucket.

Delivered in a timely manner as expected. Ordered this item when my grandson requested it for Christmas and it was not available locally. He was very excited and pleased with gift. Still holding up well and everything works. As far as I was concerned, it could've been louder. I was trying to pay back my daughter for the times when she was 3.
