Creative play for 4 year old. He can make different versions of the trucks and doesn't need help to do it. The tower shown is cardboard that you remove from the background of the box so isn't really part of the toy that will last. The water darts that shoot out are fun but you have to keep track of all the parts. Good value for this toy.

My 5yr old got it for his b-day. Its great. Makes a great fire truck plus it has all the pieces. Things stick together in seemingly inumerable combinations. Its pretty resilient and tough. I'm not terribly fond of the shooting water spikes. They can be a hazard to smaller children.
My 2yr old loves it too. He can be pretty rough with it and its holding up well.

My 4 year old son loves this firetruck, which does allow you to attach the numerous pieces together in a variety of different configurations. The different sections, including the body, wheels, cab, lights, etc. snap together using a round/hexagonal peg which make you appreciate Legos-the truck does stay together most of the time, but it is not too sturdy. For the price, I would like to see a more secure connection system.

The firehouse is cardboard; it did not last too long with my son.

Overall, I still have to recommend it because my son does play with this toy (as opposed to the numerous toys that were forgotten about shortly after purchase). He loves configuring the truck, and he is able to assemble the pieces.
