5.0 out of 5 stars A girls dream
This item was bought for my 8 yr old daughter. It is very compact, which is great, I had visions of a large notebook style item, but its smaller than an A4 page.

3.0 out of 5 stars I wish someone had told me....
This ultimately ended up to be pretty cool after a week of pulling my hair out trying to figure it out and assuming it wasn't working.

There are no directions or manual but if you do a little digging on the internet you can find it. However, once you get the manual, it doesn't really tell you what you don't already know.

This is easy to use and gives the girls hours of fun.
If you have a 'girly' girl this is for her.

This ultimately ended up to be pretty cool after a week of pulling my hair out trying to figure it out and assuming it wasn't working.

There are no directions or manual but if you do a little digging on the internet you can find it. However, once you get the manual, it doesn't really tell you what you don't already know.

The digital camera included and the upload picture features did not work no matter what I did. I found a phone # on the last page of the manual and perservered thru the automated maze until I found a human to speak to.

Turns out it has something to do with the screen resolution in the display on your control panel. Once I made this change the camera and upload worked - but the screen resolution is now fuzzy so you'll probably want to change back and forth in between using the stylin studio and everything else.

Finally, the pictures on the digital camera are FAR INFERIOR to uploading a jpeg. I wouldn't even bother using this feature.

After all that, my two girls, 8 and 5 are enjoying it alot.

5.0 out of 5 stars This toy is the most amazing thing ever!, December 11, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars

As a technologist I am always looking for great toys to prepare kids for the world of tomorrow and this is hands down the most amazing toy to bring out a young girls creative abilities and bridge the digital divide. After seeing my niece with hers, I am adding one of these to the list for every one of the young girls in my extended family. The stylus is easy to use and durable and the software is just nothing short of amazing!! If you want to give a young girl a present that will be the source of endless hours of entertainment and also give them a chance to express themselves creatively with technology, then this is the toy you need to buy.

Although this is alot of fun for all ages, it is very poorly made. The camera does not work at all and the stylus isn't good either. We just use the mouse and imported our own photos. It's alot of money for what you get, but the girls (ages 8-12) all have a blast doing the makeovers.

I love Stylin' Studio!!! It is so much fun! You can totally makeover yourself and your friends. It's really easy to use and a ton of fun! You can add cool makeup, crazy hairstyles, clothes and accessories. I can even email my makeovers to my friends. I can't wait to makeover my family next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Teaches girls technology while having fun with fashion!, December 12, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

I got this for my niece because I had Cosmo's makeover studio as a kid and thought she would enjoy it. Wow, how technology has come a long way! This board works like a low end wacom tablet where she can easily manipulate hair, makeup, backgrounds, etc. The board even has a camera so she can immediately take her picture (no uploaded a previously taken photo and all the hassles of traditional makeover programs). She had a slumber party last month where I was the chaperon and all the girls did makeovers on the toy and had a great time(much less messy than diving into makeup!). I initially thought the price was a little on the high side since software only based makeover programs are $20-30...but how much fun she has had with her gal pals and how much time she has spent with it makes it worth it. Who knows...her computer and drawing skills may make her the next pixar animator! If you know a girl who is into fashion and technology (or you want her to get into technology), this is the toy to get!

My daughters think it's fun but the included pad sucks. It's far easier to just use a mouse to do it all. The camera has them upside down when taking a pic for some reason. I got it dirt cheap and still feel a little cheated.

I bought this for 10 year old fashion loving daughter for Christmas. It
was at the top of her list. She had a hard time getting the camera to take her picture, tried it myself, and was disappointed. When we did get it to work, played with it for 10 minutes and has collected dust since. Selling in a yard sale to get it out of my house! Big disappointment!!!!

My daughter thought she would love this but has only played with it once. It took forever to get it hooked up with our computer and I've read other reviewers who have had the same issues.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She really loves it. It's easy to hook up to the computer and the program is easy to install and use. It's a little hard to get a good picture but my daughter doesn't seem to mind.
