4.0 out of 5 stars FUN and funny but a bit difficult for littles....
this game kept my 6 y/o and 7 y/o laughing and playing for a solid hour. be advised it is VERY difficult to actually catch the little whirly gigs, but if your kids are not sensitive to such failures, they'll love it. and if they are, maybe you should buy this so they can learn that you can't ALWAYS get what you want, and you can't always win! there is a defo height...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but not durable
Bought this for my nephew who loves to play catch. He loved it and played for 2 days straight. I had some problems from the start, but it worked well enough. After 2 days it broke and we had to return it. Very disappointing.

this game kept my 6 y/o and 7 y/o laughing and playing for a solid hour. be advised it is VERY difficult to actually catch the little whirly gigs, but if your kids are not sensitive to such failures, they'll love it. and if they are, maybe you should buy this so they can learn that you can't ALWAYS get what you want, and you can't always win! there is a defo height advantage, since the tallest kid can reach above the shortest, but mine are the same height so no worries for us. however, dad kept catching them!!

sometimes the little circles get stuck...just wiggle the "flying saucer" and they un-stick.

the outer space music adds to the fun, it makes the kids giggle and is a good warning that the spinners are coming out. don't put it near a fence, they could go over it to the neighbor's yard!

fun fun fun!!

All the discs go into a compartment and then spins into the air. It comes down kind of in slow motion.

It is one of those fun non competitive games. I have two complaints. We've had to return one already after a few minutes of play. It wouldn't get the disc into the other well to spin. (It might've been handled roughly while putting the unit on the floor.) I hope this next one lasts longer. It would be nice if the box was designed to store the game more easily. All in all it is fun!

Edited to say (5/2010): We still love playing this, but one of the catchers have fallen apart (possibly due to my 20 mo). We have also had to order more discs because they keep disappearing! I believe the discs were $2 for a set of 16 which is reasonable, but shipping was $5! Overall, we are still happy.

I bought this game on a whim for a family reunion. The kids had nothing to do so I went to a store and bought this. No, I didn't buy it from amazon. Not only did the kids enjoy it but the adults, as well. Who would have known? It came be somewhat difficult but it wouldn't be fun without some challenge. I would recommend this game and I don't regret buying it at all.

Very fun game for kids. But my 5 yr old is having a hard time catching the disks, I think he just needs more practice :)

I needed a toy that would require minimal attention from me so I could do other things without being harassed to play all the time by our young cat who we still consider a kitten. Well, not only does it entertain Lily, her much older step-sister, Jasmine Flower, loves it too! The two elder cats, Jak and Ginger, don't chase the saucers, but if one should fly and land near them, they'll agreeably play with it.

The saucers sometimes get jammed and we're alerted by the loud clicking sound, so it does require a little attention by a human from time to time.

I think the description mistakenly said the game came with batteries, but it does not.

Overall, a great entertainment for our kitties.

I contacted matel online and they emailed me where I could buy more replacement sets of saucers. I've already bought another couple of sets and plan to buy more. It's easy to lose them in the house, and since I don't plan on doing deep searches until I clean and vacuum once a week, the spare saucers will be a must for us. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun game., September 13, 2011

This is a fun game. The kids will love the flying discs. It is a bit tough for kids 5 and under to catch many of the discs - but they love it anyway. We found that the baskets don't hold up very well and a few tears in the rubber/polymer have occurred. It may only be due to the way they were stored (kids can be tough on any toy).

5.0 out of 5 stars A bit difficult, but so much fun!, February 24, 2011

I agree with the other reviews - it is a bit difficult, but it was really a lot of fun! My 4 1/2 yo and I were laughing the entire time. (and we played for an hour). My son wasn't bothered by not being able to catch many saucers. Like most kids his age he just picked them up and just put them in the saucer catcher and called it a win. The other plus, it is perfect for bad weather days! A fun way to burn off some excess energy. I would defiantly get this for other kids.

Fun game. It's a quick game that can be played over and over. The disks fly and bounce everywhere. We play it in our hall way with the doors closed or outside.

This is a fun game for the kids. They did get frustrated at times because they are different ages and my oldest caught the most disks. So, if you can get the kids to take turns catching, its a great game for the whole family and for a distraction when you need to make supper uninterrupted :)!
