My 1 year old was getting into a habit of pulling her fine black hair. She doesn't have a lot so she's always pulling on it to see it. She also pulls on my hair too whenever she gets a chance.Anyhow I read it's bad for babies to get into a habit of pulling their hair. So the office aid at my pediatrician's office recommended that I get a doll with lots of hair so she can pull on it instead. I came upon this Ni Hao Kai-Lan doll because it has the same hair color as my daughter. From the pictures it looked like there's lots of hair. When I first got it I was a little disappointed as to how little hair is on this doll. Also the hair didn't feel that real and I was afraid my daughter wouldn't like it. I then spent half an hour to release the hair wrapped up in the two little buns and there is now plenty of hair on the doll. I handed it to my daughter and she is now fascinated with the wavy hair on this doll instead of her own or mine. At 19 months she has now started brushing the dolls hair with the cute little comb. So all's well that ends well. NOTE: This is a Target Exclusive Doll. |
