This is such a cute and fun collectible toy for girls. If you are looking for something new and lots of fun for tween girls, famps is a great gift! You just buy the starter kit that you hook up to your computer. Then put in the cute little collectible character and your entire computer screen changes to the mood of your character. The character that you get with the starter kit is Creative, so she is all about art and creating things. Super cute! You can buy additional characters as well like Happy, Sassy, Silly, etc. BTW - famps stands for feelings, attitudes, moods and personalities - how cute is that?!?

famps has a fun website too! You can take a quiz to find out which famp you are, find out all about famps and play games. I think that I have one of the highest scores! Check it out - www.myfamps.com.

Great price from Amazon and the business I purchased this from. I give both a Five Star. I had looked at local stores and they wanted 20+ dollars! This is a fun and educational game for children and adults. The children learn the basics of the computer; they love having a place on the computer--like their parents--where they can enter their world, however, it is safe and entertaining. I recommend this kit and the members of the FAMP family--get them all. The children will love them, and so will you! Thanks, Amazon.

This is an amazingly bad product - with poor (pretty much non-existent) documentation of how to "play/use" it - buggy software that while it says it is made for 6 year olds was not usable by my A student 8 year old - and left me stumped for hours as I tried to debug it and find out what in the world it was good for. The software (which you have to download to use - not shipped on the CD rom which comes with it) - froze on 2 different PC's, I visited the website - and found a bunch of test forums, and no actual other users other than people asking if anyone else could use the "game".

I think the prior reviewer is someone who works for the company - because this is not something any tween in their right mind would enjoy.

I'm sorry I already threw out the box amidst all the Xmas other boxes - or would return it immediately.

bought starter set today and also one additional figure - try to install the software and get an invalid URL site error. can't install the software - therefore we can't use the toys. looks like the website was abandoned some time ago. i can't believe they are still allowed to sell these useless things.

This won't work on OSX 10.4 or 10.6, supposedly it works on 10.5 but couldn't tell you. Website is no help whatsoever and there are no updates or additional information. This has been completely abandoned by Mattel and will end up right in your trash.

This is an abandoned product. The software won't install on a Mac with OSX 10.6.3, though the specs say 10.5 or higher. Installer errors saying 10.5 or later is required. The website has says "Updates will be available when the product is launched", and similare message under faq, no link to a service site. Finding the mattel service site, the faqs there are useless and they don't even offer any way to submit a question electronically. You can only phone them during business hours on the east coast.

Don't buy this product.

I attempted to download the install for this product for several hours and it stopped at various points along the way. I then called the support line on the box and they told me they don't have a 64 bit install or any plans to ever have one at this point. Unless you have an old 32 bit system, Stay Away.

We have not yet opened this as it is a Christmas present however, we purchased this because it received good reviews and thought it would be something new and different that her other friends would not have. We are very excited for her to open this gift. Very please with how quickly it shipped!

My daughter was so excited to get this toy. She earned it after saving her coins and going to the Coinstar coin-counting machine at the grocery store. Luckily Amazon was a participating company with Coinstar.

She was so excited to pick her own toy from Amazon, that over-looked the one comment that would have saved her money. It was the one comment that described this toy not being compatible with Apple OS 10.6 "Snow Leopard," although the product description states "10.5 or above"

We tried going to the FAMPs website, but there is still no software updates.

I'll be sending this comment off to Mattel.

Was given as a gift to my daughter. She has a Mac Running 10.6.5. install halts with a screen saying 10.5 or higher is needed.

Help desk at matel suggest a firwall is causing the issue, but don't know how to overcome it. Removing/disabling the firwall and attempting install still gives same error. Help desk at matel only say sorry and cant resolve it.
