This is by far the greatest hot wheels track I have ever come across. No batteries required, just straight up fun times. Set the needle to 12 o-clock and then start slamming the launchers to make your cars speed around the loop. Each time your car makes a complete loop the needle moves a notch in your direction and if you can get it all the way over to your side the checkered flag drops declaring you the winner! Plus both cars go around the same loop so crashes are pretty common (if you know 5 yr old boys....or 26 year old dads for that matter....then you can see where this would add to the pleasure of the race). I played with this with my two young boys (4 and 5) for hours getting out car after car too see who is fastest. It's sort of a running thing that I can do to bond with them...we go to the store and each get to pick out a new hot wheels car and then bring them home to race them. It's fun for them AND for me. I HIGHLY recommend this product!

I bought this for my son's 5th birthday. He & his 7 yr old cousin had a BLAST!!! This is a great toy for 2 or more kids in the house; they battle each other & they love it! MANY MANY different Hot Wheels cars work on this raceway (that's the #1 complaint of any Hot Wheels track sets!). A definite RECOMMEND!

I got this toy because it was on sale for [...] but I wasn't sure how good it would be. It is great though, a lot of fun. My 4 and 5 year olds love to take a side each and hit that button to see whos cars races to the top first or hopefully they connect and a crash sends one or both flying. It was easy and quick to put together also. This is our second Speed Racer and the kids really enjoy them. We have only tried the speed racer cars on this set as of yet though, I'm not sure how well regular matchbox cars would fare. The speed racer ones tend to cost more.

Cute race track. My Granddaughter and her Dad had a good time Christmas day playing with it.
