Being a collector of all things creature in the was or toys and figures, i was very excited for these Avatar creature action figures. This Thanator figure is fantastic! The mold of him is very detailed, showing skin texture, scales, wrinkles, and great musculature. And and even the black/blue coloration fits in with the creatures texture and muscle, having lighter and darker areas enhancing the detail (as opposed to being solid colored). He is quite pose-able and stands just perfectly on his own. The figure snaps together easily and thus far seems very sturdy. My only dissapointment is that his jaws, while movable, barely open that wide at all! So how is he supposed to eat people? :D

Overall, this is a utterly fa-nominal figure and i defiantly recommend it!

I recieved the Thanator and was pleased on how beautiful the detail was. I had NO problem attaching the ligaments and they snapped with ease, it literally took me 5 minutes to put it together. (leave it in the car during the hot,summer weather for a couple of hours and it should be easy to assemble)
This model could've been better if the hindlegs,tail, pads(on head) would articulate and if the mouth had a wider range of opening and closing. Overall a GREAT model and it is displayed near my window :)

Bought this for my son's b-day in May. Very realistic looking. My son really liked it. I was thrilled to find this on-line since the movie came out on dvd and all the stores had previously put all avatar toys on clearance and were not getting any more in. Thank goodness for Amazon!

My biggest issue is trying to put this thing together. I've put together McFarlane dragons for a while now, but DAMN is this thing irritating. It takes forever to get the joints (there are 9) put together, particularly connecting the head to the neck and the tail to the body. If I wanted to put something together I would have gotten a Zord or Legos. Once it is put together it is pretty awesome though.

This is a great action figure. It is worth the money, and like the other reviewers already stated, it is nicely molded and very articulated. The back legs do not have as much motion as the forelegs though and the tail does not move at all. The only catch is, the Thanator is not put together when you buy it. It comes in 10 peices, body, neck, head, tail and six legs. Most of it snaps together fairly easily for an adult. But the tail is a very hard snap-in. I had troubles with it and one of the forelegs. Once that tail is in though, its not coming out (if you did it right). Its well worth the trouble of assembly.

This is a terrific item for collectors and as a toy. It snaps together to make a sturdy, great looking figure, it's poseable, and it stands well, not too heavy for it's legs like some toys tend to be of this nature. Great accuracy with the movie creature, and it does indeed work well with the avatar Navi figures of the smaller size. A great item for any collector's shelf and well worth the money, as well as it is reasonably priced for the quality of the toy. Defintely a 5 in my opinion!

The Avatar Thanator figure that I ordered came in a box that was quite honestly frustrating to open, but a pair of scissors or a utility knife should solve the problem. When it was finally open, I was presented with 10 pieces: head, neck, torso, front legs, hind legs (in all six legs), and a tail. Through more difficulty and frustration, I managed to assemble the creature, the tail and right-front leg being somewhat of a challenge. Some man-power might be required to snap on the tail. When it was all put together, it was very awesome, great detail, movie-accurate, and of perfect size (measuring about 12 inches from head to tail and about four inches tall). It's a really great size for such a great toy and judging by the feel of it, it's quite sturdy. My only complaint regarding the outcome of the model, is the jaws do not open as wide as anticipated. Other than that, highly recommended for children during playtime or an adult collector who seeks to display it on their shelf. Either way, it makes a great addition to your household. He currently resides on my computer desk and every so often, I bring him out for play.

Both me and my sister loved this toy!!! It was easy to put together too, exept the tail, head, and back legs. It is very durable, but I dont recomend putting it in water, it dosn't float. We live by a lake in Texas, so water is an every day thing during summer. We dont have a web cam so we cant use the I-tag. I would have liked it if the mouth could open a bit more. It isn't bioluminescent at all. My room wall is pink so this will stand out, even without bioluminecence.

Just came in the mail today and I LOVE it! It's bigger than I thought it would be and overall I am please with my purchase! Very detailed and articulated. Kinda hard to get together but with a little man power the pieces fit well and don't fall out. I wish the mouth opened a little more but past that this is so well done.

This is absolutely the best Avatar toy they offer.
It's very durable and all 6 legs pop right in.
Each leg is labeled so even I could figure it
out. I highly recommend this for any Avatar
die-hard like my daughter:)
