Loopz
An Interactive Music Memory Game with Motion Sensors
The unique Loopz game device features four semi-circular rings arranged in a four-square pattern. Each is outfitted with a motion sensor that detects movement. Gameplay involves players mimicking the pulsing light and music patterns by waving their hands in and out of the loops in an accurate, timely fashion.

If you miss three times, you're out, but if you hang on, the patterns will become faster and more involved. Loopz has an internal counter that tracks your speed and difficulty level throughout the game and will rate your overall performance.

The Loopz device has a Home button and an on/off switch. You'll wave your hand into the top loops to toggle through games and use the bottom loops to confirm your selections. Use the Home button to adjust the volume or to quit a game and return to the menu at any time. Though its controls are simple and its games are easy to understand, Loopz offers hours of challenging musical fun for kids and the whole family.

Seven Unique Games to Challenge Multiple Skills
Put aside your video game consoles because Loopz features seven active games that will get everyone off the couch. Memory, flexibility, rhythm, reflexes--these skills and more will be put to task by this interactive music memory game. Whether you're playing alone, or with a group of up to four, you'll have plenty of gameplay options to choose from. Some games, like Repeat the Beat, feature up to three levels.

The Loopz Library includes:

  • Repeat the Beat: Challenges you to mimic an ever-growing pattern of lights.
  • Reflex Master: Tag as many lights as you can before the time runs out.
  • Rhythm and Flow: To keep the song playing, tag the random light sequences before they turn off.
  • Musicology: Build songs one instrument at a time by mimicking sequences of light.
  • Freestyle DJ: Remix the music featured in Loopz by turning tracks off and on.
  • Music Studio: Play Loopz like a musical instrument--each unique sound features 10 distinct notes.
  • Versus Mode: Take turns building and repeating a sequence until one player makes three mistakes.

This game is fun for the whole family. I bought it for my sons 6th Birthday and it has been a hit. My 9 year old daughter and 7 year old son really enjoy it, my 6 year old likes it but does find it a little more challenging than the older two, and my 4 year old daughter likes to have her turns. The game is great for reflex and coordination; I swear I can see all kinds of neurons firing in their young minds as they play.

Addicting, it's nice that there are 6 different games, reflex master is my favorite. You can play head to head and the music is not annoying. Good buy.

younger ones can even play the freestyle games and make music and love the colors. This is a great family game. Don't know about durability but so far seems good.

I saw this toy on Good Morning America, and I had not been feeling very good not much like myself, so I brought it on a whim. And that's not like me but they made it look like it would be fun, almost like the Bob It. So, I got on Amazon and found on and I ordered it. Thought it would keep the family busy on Christmas Day. We have kids that are 19, 22. 28, 27 and grandkids that are 4,5,5,7 and they all had such a ball with it. The 4 yr old is really getting his coordination skills down pat as are the 5 yr olds. I meant to say reflexes. It really does help and I am in a competition with my older daughters and one son cause I guess their reflexes are a bit better then mine but I will catch up if it kills me. You get hooked on the game and its just so much fun. Now when the kids come over they don't rush to get the Wi controllers they rush to get the Loopz. I am so glad that they had it on their show that day cause otherwise I never would have seen it and we would have missed out on a lot of family time together and a lot of laughs. Thank you GMA for showing it to me and thank you Loopz for all the hours of fun with my family and I get to practice when I am home alone all day. Its a great travel game too. You can play it in the car if you want. Its very durable. There's also several different games you can play on here, theres the reflex game, there is a music game, and several others. Enough to keep you busy and not get bored. Everyone should get one. They are reasonably priced on Amazon.

This is sort of like a modern version of the old game Simon. It has more settings than Simon though, including options where kids can just play around and make music. It's challenging enough for adults, but easy enough for kids. It's a lot of fun, and one of the things I like about it (compared to board games) is that kids can play with it by themselves too when they are bored and they don't have a friend over, and mom and dad want a break.

But also, these days they say even adults of all ages should continue to play games that use your brain, so playing this with your kids sometimes is a great way to spend a family night. Kids might even want to bring it over to their grandparents to play, or grandparents may want to buy it to keep at their house for when the family comes over. I think adults that do not have children would enjoy this too, especially at parties or get-togethers.

My major requirement in a toy like this is something that all ages of grandchildren can do to some extent and still fun and challenging for the adults. Loopz does a good job at both.

The Loopz game that I received was stuck in demo mode. We had torn the tag off completely, inserted new batteries, tried pressing reset in a number of ways, but still we could not select a game. But even when it was stuck in demo mode, our ten year old niece loved it and our baby was even attracted by it. Our 18 year old niece was intrigued.

Instead of going through Amazon, I went through Mattel's customer service via live chat. Within a week, I received a replacement product that works perfectly.

Tonight, the adults sat around for about 20 minutes and played it while the kids slept. It's fairly cheesy for adults and that makes it funny and fun. Adults preferred the musicology and reflex master modes.

This is a fun game and can help with hand-eye coordination and motor skills. There are many different modes, which makes it many games in one. There are 1-2 modes for multiplayer and there is a way to do other modes for multiplayer competition as well, it's just not as seamless. (I think most people buy this for the "repeat the beat" mode, where one person plays at a time until they've reached the max level. After they're done, the game resets and you have to choose the "repeat the beat" mode again for player 2, and then player 2 plays until they've reached the max level.) The sensors aren't perfect and don't register your hand movement about 5% of the time.
