If you are looking at this page, then you know who Booster is, so there is no need for me to go over his history, lets just skip to the review.

Booster comes in the standard DC Universe Box in a wonderful flight pose.

Booster has had one other figure recently, the DC direct figure. I will be using this as a comparison.

While the Direct version has Booster with a 80s yellow coloring (very bright), this figure has a more modern gold paint up, perhaps slightly too dark for some but I believe works perfectly. The blue is metalic on both figures. The goggles are perfectly done, as they do not make the figure's eyes appear strange as they have on some figures in this line. While the Direct figure has washed out blonde hair, like a surfer, this figure has the updated darker blond from the recent comic series.

Booster stands just as tall as a normal DC Direct figure, slightly taller than some of the Universe figures (which makes sense, as Booster is 6 foot 5 in the comics).

The paint...we all know there have been problems. The metalic blue is the base paint, and I foung three cases of minor paint problems: the blue peaking through on the arm, a slight smudge on his right check, and a slight smudge on his left arm. Not enough, however to draw attention to themselves.

Booster has amazing articulation. Neck, shoulders, foearm, elbow, wrist, waist, torso, hips, knees, calves and ankles all rotate. Booster can do the splits, people.

Booster's accessory is Skeets. Let me warn you now, Skeets isn't like the Direct version, which was free standing. He is connected to Booster by a yellow energy trail (similar to would one would see in the comics). A bit annoying that it can't be plugged in and out, but not enough to make you turn away from the figure.

There are two versions of Booster, the modern and the classic , or collared, version. The Modern Skeets has a fun surprise: open his face plate to reveal Mr. mind. However, this does lead to the door not shutting completely tight. Again, however, not the biggest deal in the world, especially if you keep the door open.

In the end, this figure is wonderful. i have him standing next to my classic Booster figure, and it really shows the evolution from the 80s to now for the character.

This is Booster Gold from wave 7 of the DC Universe Classics line. A football player turned janitor (due to some bad choices) from the 25th century, Booster stole some technology from the museum he worked at and traveled back in time to become a popular super hero. Quite an interesting way to start a superhero career I've always thought but over time he has actually become an important and popular hero in the DC universe.

The figure is a solid, fun and visually impressive piece. Based on the standard DCU body he sports perfect articulation, ball join neck, ball shoulders, pin elbows and his fisted hands rotate, a tilt torso joint, cut hip joint, the great hip joints that allow forward and back and side to side movement without making the sculpt look funny like ball hips do, pin knees and ankles. In summary, a great amount to get plenty of cool super hero poses without over doing it or hindering the look of the figure.

While the body is your typical super hero body he sports 2 cool areas of sculpt. One is the head. The face looks great, they've done a very convincing job of giving him a tousled look to his hair and the yellow goggles look terrific. And second is that sculpted onto his right hand is his (stolen) Legion ring which is a nice touch. Note that there is a version with a big collar and one without. The collar looks nice what I've seen of it but I do not have that version so won't opine further.

They've done a pretty clean job on the paint and the metallic blue and yellow are really eye catching. The only issue on mine is that the blue point down on his *ahem* crotch is pretty sloppy. I'm sure that issue will vary.

Last are accessories. He has Skeets, his (stolen) robot pal who has all the historical info, attached to his back by an energy trail flying up to Booster's shoulder. He is not intended to be removable. He looks good and is gold with a blue visor/window. If you have the no collar version then you also get a different version of Skeets that opens up to reveal Mr. Mind inside. The controls inside Skeets are painted and the fact that they sculpted and pained a tiny green Mr. Mind in there (who is a caterpillar by the way) is cool. If you're wondering what he's doing in there I guess you'll have to read 52.

Booster also has a piece of Atom Smasher the collect and connect (read: build a figure) for this line. He's a big dude, about 9" tall, and sports great sculpt, articulation and paint all his own. He's worth it if you're interested in buying the entire line at all. If not then you'll have an extra arm or leg or head just hanging around.

Overall, a really good looking and fun figure.

The DC Universe figure of Booster Gold and his robot companion Skeets is an excellent likeness of one of the more underused DC characters. Booster and Skeets are modeled after the most recent comic series. The figure is very detailed and durable. It's a must have for all Booster fans.
