Mattel's Pink Label Barbra Streisand Collector Barbie Doll

I can't believe that Mattel actually made a "Barbra Streisand" doll! I always wanted one and wished they would long ago and here it is.

The doll is a beautiful replica of Barbra in the 60s with the bobbed hair-do in light brown with tiny blonde streaks, sailor blouse and long black skirt (with thigh high slit in the back), black sling-back pumps and lace/fishnet stockings. She also comes with an old fashioned microphone on its stand.

The doll's makeup is spot on with the "Cleopatra" eyeliner and the beige-pink lipstick that matches its nail polish. And that famous Streisand nose is there, too.

She stands with one hand on her hip and the other grasping the microphone stand, and the doll has that sly smile on her face.

According to the box, the doll also comes with doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity. Since I'm keeping my Barbra doll in the unopened box, I can't verify if the doll stand is in there but I'm sure it is.

On the back of the doll box there's a picture of Streisand in the same outfit that the doll is wearing along with a description of the superstar and where she wore this particular outfit.

I'm sure this doll will make a great gift to any Barbra Streisand/Barbie fan out there!

Hopefully Mattel will do more "Barbra" dolls especially with her 70s look and style, like she had in What's Up, Doc?.

Well, as one who a) Thinks Barbra Streisand is God, and b) has always wanted a Barbie doll growing up (but was too embarrassed to ask for one), this is just the best Christmas gift ever. Is the toy educational? Hardly, but who cares? Is the toy durable? I wouldn't know . . . it's never leaving its box. My only regret is that I missed out on being able to purchase one of the "gold" or "platinum" series dolls, which I assume are even more well done. For any Streisand fan, this is a must-have hoot!

I love this doll! It is so neat that Barbra Streisand finally got her own Barbie doll. This doll looks just like her and is a grand tribute to one very talented woman. Everything about it is high quality, and each detail is executed with absolute perfection. The body mould is great and the legs are a big improvement from the sticky, bendy ones on most Barbies. There are even painted toe and fingernails!

One thing that's really great about this doll is that it actually looks just like Barbra Streisand. In my own personal experience with celebrity Barbie dolls, the actual product doesn't usually end up looking much like the real person, but this one is an exception. The face is just beautiful with a spot-on expression, and the hair and make-up is just lovely, much better than what the picture shows. Even the nose is correct! The only con is that right out of the box, her hair is awful looking and shellacked with hairspray. I washed it out with soap and warm water and then combed it to make it look natural and make the bangs visible.

As for the accessories, the full-size microphone is really cute, and the included stand seems to hold the doll up well. I chose to unbox mine because I like to actually enjoy my dolls rather than just look at them behind plastic, and I've discovered that she's one of the most fun dolls to try different outfits on because she looks good in anything.

All in all, this is a very pretty doll with good value for the money, and if you're looking for a gift for Barbie or Barbra fans, you can't go wrong.

I went looking for Mattel's Ladies of the '80s dolls and while the Cyndi Lauper Barbie was cute and a definite must-have, I was disappointed that the Debbie Harry and Joan Jett dolls did not resemble their living counterparts so decided to pass on those two.

However, the Barbra Streisand doll that was sitting alongside them was so gorgeous and such an amazing likeness, I just had to buy her.

The packaging is very classy with black and silver graphics and Babs stands beside a tall old-fashioned microphone.

She will look beautiful in your display cabinet. Streisand fans, pick this one up--you won't be disappointed!

I recall the sixties. Barbra Streisand was considered the "ugly duckling" while Barbie was the all-American idea of what beauty and perfection were. And now Barbra Streisand is a Barbie doll!
Isn't it wonderful that today Ms. Streisand's unique looks have not only garnished her the well deserved accolade of being a "Barbie As" doll but her perserverence not to alter herself or her looks to suit the supposed time-honored ways helps millions of people to accept their looks (and themselves).
So, if you're counting, Barbra can: sing, dance, act, direct, write, influence people positively . . . and you wonder why she's my favorite?

I am a Barbra Streisand fan and I purchased the doll to add to my doll collection. I am so fortunate to have this doll, when I first saw the doll, it was on "Oprah" and I said I just had to have it and now I do.

When I saw this item, I knew I had to buy it for my other half, who's a huge Barbra Streisand fan. The item arrived promptly and it was packaged very securely! When I opened the box, I discovered the item in perfect condition.
Everything that the vendor said about the item was exactly as described. I would certainly work/buy from this vendor again!!!

By the way, my other half was so thrilled to have this item added to an already huge collection of Streisand memorabilia!

I love this Barbie - I do have a question thought I am not sure how the stand holds her up - can anyone help.
