5.0 out of 5 stars The real George W. Bush is STANDING TALL!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Matter of Laughter
Over the last 18 months, I have read at least one biography (and most often two or more) written on each American president. In doing so, I have learned that they are never unbiased.

Mr. Kessler's book certainly falls into this category. If you are looking for a book to help you like George W. Bush better, somehow to assuage the guilt you feel about...

5.0 out of 5 stars The real George W. Bush is STANDING TALL!, August 7, 2004
This review is from: A Matter of Character: Inside the White House of George W. Bush (Hardcover)
Having been trashed to death with all of the ridiculous Bush-bashing books that came out earlier this year, what a refreshing change it is to read a book that is actually based on facts, not opinion. A book that is well researched and a book that tells the truth about a great man and a great President.

A Matter of Character is must reading for all Americans, especially those seeking the truth about our President, not just opinion, if not flat out lies like in the anti-Bush books.

The world of politics seems to be getting uglier and uglier. In 2000, we had Al Gores "win at any cost" agenda. Now we have some new opponents to President Bush who feel that "if we can't find any dirt on the guy, let's create some." Whatever happened to who is the best man for the job? Or arguing policies?

After reading A Matter of Character, you will realize that George W. Bush is standing tall indeed despite all the rhetoric and unfounded bullcrap.

A Matter of Character is a book that you must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The man who brought respectability back to the Presidency, August 8, 2004
This review is from: A Matter of Character: Inside the White House of George W. Bush (Hardcover)
Say what you will about George W. Bush, but before you pass judgement on him, read A Matter of Character and see why George W. Bush is the man who brought respectability back to the Presidency of the United States and why he is the most qualified to help America to continue to grow after the Clinton Recession and why Bush will be around for FOUR MORE YEARS!

5.0 out of 5 stars First of all it's a fair book, August 8, 2004
This review is from: A Matter of Character: Inside the White House of George W. Bush (Hardcover)
Fairness is not very modern, but how refreshing. Finaly a book that takes a fair look at the President, the writher judges what he sees, not what is modern or smart to say when you are a singer or an actor on the far left.
A very recomented book !

5.0 out of 5 stars Portait of a real leader, August 5, 2004
This review is from: A Matter of Character: Inside the White House of George W. Bush (Hardcover)
George W. Bush is undoubtably a modern day Ronald Reagan. He is a true leader. He brought back the stock market from the CLinton Bear MARKET YEARS. He created the strongest economy in over 20 years. Like Reagan, Bush knows something that the democrats don't....how to stimulate the economy, spur growth and without raising taxes. He also knows something about living a great family life and what the words "for better or for worse untill death do us part."

GWB brought back respectability to the presidency. He brought the economy back and he brought the stock market market back. He has made America a safer place and unlike his opponent, he does not participate in gutter trash talk or hire hollywood "stars" to try to sway the American public with bs.

Great book about a great man.

5.0 out of 5 stars IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!, August 6, 2004
This review is from: A Matter of Character: Inside the White House of George W. Bush (Hardcover)
Fantastic book. After the liberal left has done nothing but churn out one book after another, lambasting President Bush, it's about time we got another viewpoint and yes, an independent viewpoint.

Kessler's book shows the human side of Bush. Liberals are SO very quick to point out his foibles, his mis-pronunciation of words, his use of slang, his Texas heritage and run him into the ground because of that.

Being President means doing things that are sometimes unpopular. The President's job is NOT to make the rest of the world love us. We've been cow-towing to terrorists too long. Bush has made choices that have been very difficult. He's been President during the most difficult era since WWII.

Ronald Kessler's inside, authoritative account of how George W. Bush has applied principled leadership to the tough task of defeating terrorism and preserving freedom should be read by everyone who cares about our national security.

A Wonderful Book.

As a moderate registered democrat who voted for both Clinton and Al Gore, I am still undecided this election year. I read this book to try to get a fair and balanced perspective on the Bush presidency and came to realize that I share many of the same values with this man. While not the most scholarly president in our history, he has led our country with compassion, courage, integrity and decisiveness during one of the most trying times in our nation's history.

Kessler's book can be mundane at times, but he doesn't fail to convey Mr. Bush's character. After all the negative Bush Bashing by the Michael Moore-led ultra-liberal fanatics, I've been increasingly turned off and quite disgusted by the Democratic party. I think combined with the refreshing honesty and openness of this book with the shameful disrespectful behavior by Democratic "leaders" have swung me to vote for Mr. Bush this November. A good read, recommended to any undecided voter or Democratic voters sick of all the ultra liberal rhetoric.

Note: I did NOT read Amazon's "review" prior to reading this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars At last...The truth about our humble President, August 5, 2004
This review is from: A Matter of Character: Inside the White House of George W. Bush (Hardcover)
If you are sick and tired of the unfounded attacks on George W. Bush, then you will enjoy this book. If you are sick and tired of certain hollywood stars poking fun at our commander-in-chief, then you'll enjoy this book. If you are interested in facts, not opinions or even flat out lies then you'll love this book. A Matter of Character profiles the real George W. Bush. The man who brought back character and respectibility to the Presidency of the United States.

Interesting is that author Ronald Kessler voted for Al Gore in 2000. The information in this book is based on fact, not opinion. It is the result of many years of research behind the scenes and in speaking with people who truly know the man.

The truth at last about President George Walker Bush. It's about time and Thank GOD!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome tribute to A Real Leader, August 6, 2004

I agree with the person who said that George W. Bush is very much like Ronald Reagan. President Bush loves America, and would do anything to defend her people. He has brought back to the White House integrity, compassion and morals. I would also suggest the book "The Faith of George W. Bush" by Stephen Mansfield. President Bush has had to make some tough decisions, which history will prove were the right ones. Take a journey back to some other leaders of our country, who also had tough decisions to make....George Washington, Abraham Lincoln... God Bless George W. Bush and God Bless America.

At last a book that tells it like it really is about the President thats said to have no plan that really works with in the plan he really has. Some would say what he is doing is wrong and the country is going into the toilet, I just don't know what they've been smoking if they can't see that the economy is going great. When a country can have a great economy under the threat of a terrorist attack what more do you want. Ronald Kessler has been on the inside with the man at the helm and can say nothing but what good things the president is doing. Some people would rather close their eyes and see nothing. I'm glad we have people like Ronald that can help open some of those eyes in this great book. A must read for the people that want to see a winning America and know whos working for you and your family. Larry Hobson-Author- "The Day Of The Rose"

This review is from: A Matter of Character: Inside the White House of George W. Bush (Hardcover)
I have been interested in George W. Bush ever since he was elected governor of Texas in 1994. Like all human beings, Bush is not the cartoon character his critics believe nor the last Coke in the desert his ultimate fans would like him to be. This book can be read as an official biography of the Bush campaign for '04. The author had access to the president himself and to the Administration's top players. It's well and clearly written. If you are an eyes-shut-Bush-fan this is a book you want to read; if you're not, you will find it hagiographic.

One of the most interesting facts about Bush is his unpretending nature (there you have a sign of real intelligence; and watch out, don't confuse it with stupidity.) But in this book, from the very beginning till the end, the author insists in portraying an unbelievable perfect human being. Even previous admissions by the president himself about his wild youth are dismissed. There's hardly a single word of critic from the many friends, members of the Administration and Republican politicians who were interviewed by the author. But once in a while Bush's own voice slips out of the pages, and there he is: unpretending; intelligent; really trying to be compassionate, but not always succesful; believing one can change the world out of pure will but getting the hard facts of reality instead; strangely aware of his imperfect nature; and, last but not least, deeply, contradictory human. That's why I give it four stars.
