MATTERS OF THE HEART by Juanita Bynum delivers a wonderful, right-on-time message concerning walking into the full light of God's love with a "new heart." It speaks to the battle of the mind, which is worldly based, versus the heart, which is soul based. The mind will resist the revolution that the soul is undergoing as the Christian grows in their relationship with Christ. The need for this renewal is paramount because the word of God cannot flourish in a hardened heart. It is imperative that the heart and mind be in line together.

Often times, God will allow us to endure a wilderness experience. During this time, it is a retrospective period where we learn more about our faith and ourselves. This desolate time will help us to begin to examine the contents of our heart and our mind. One key teaching in the book that really stood out to me is that the abundance of what is our hearts will pour out of not only out mouths, but in the manner in which we conduct ourselves.

MATTERS OF THE HEART is not a book which you can take lightly. The message from the pages pour into your consciousness and minister to your soul. It is very well written, easy to read and chock full of Bible scriptures which fortify the message Ms. Bynum is presenting. This is a necessary read for anyone seeking to encourage a change in their life. MATTERS OF THE HEART presented a very timely message for me by really causing me to examine the manner in which I approach situations and taking pause to examine the contents of my heart and responding in a kinder manner. This book does not touch on anything new - more so, it is the manner in which the information is conveyed that challenges the reader into a new operating plan. Personally, MATTERS OF THE HEART has helped me to give pause to reflect on the things that are pleasing to God versus esteeming those that are pleasing to man. With the abundance of scripture and food for thought provided in the book, God's words have been reaffirmed to me and I felt a sense of renewal after mediating upon the message this book conveys.

This book has changed my walk with God. All this time, I thought I had a heart that was after God, until Dr. Bynum shared her story and I was able to relate to it. She reveals so much about herself and how some of us Christians have been tricked by the enemey to believe that we are pure of heart, when so much evil is hidden deeply in our minds and emotions. This book makes you question, "how saved are you?" This is a message that needs to be heard by the entire body of Christ. Not just young Saints, but everyone, including Prophets, Teachers and Pastors. We ALL need the new heart message. I'm giving this book to my entire family for Christmas, the saved and unsaved.

This message is definitely needed in this hour. So many people are being controlled by their own choice to go against God's ways and then give in their own fleshly desires and get caught up in strongholds. But what we really need to get up out of these is the new heart. This book had to be prayed over as it was being written, because I promise you it isn't an easy feed. Take your time to digest it, as you digest the scripture that God leads you to read and you are reading this book. I am going to go through the book a second time around now. This is an excellent step to your renewal and spiritual growth.

I must agree with one person who said that this book is chagning her life even as she writes well I feel the same way. I found that I am a big Juanita Bynum fan because she come forth with such power and clarity that it not hard to miss the message of what God is saying through her. I find this book to be straight to the point and just deals with things that most christian face today. I find that everyone should be reading this fromt the youngest to oldest christian. Something can truly be gained from this book and I must say that I have learned and gotten a lot. God bless Juanita and her ministry.

I love this book. It' life changing and I feel it is exactly what God is saying to the people in these last days. It wakes you up to the realization of what God wants our heart to be like. This book will give you a permanent and improved life if you are ready to receive.

In a nutshell, the book is changing my life even as I write. I don't remember the last time that I read such an in your face book. This book causes one to take a long look at self. It's so easy to read something and see others in what you're reading. This book was no exception. However, if you're really serious about doing what it is that God has called you to do, you can't look at anyone but yourself. Dr. Bynum was so candid and vulnerable in her telling of how God approached her about her own heart. That took great courage and was an awesome encouragement to me. You don't find too many ministers who are willing to come clean before the people. With the platform that she has across the country, I believe that God will will use this writing to wake the church up to what really matters. Thank you Dr. Bynum.

I highly suggest you read this but if and only if you're ready for a higher level in God. This book will open your eyes about the inner you. This book is meat. If you don't take your time and read it you will choke. I have so much respect for this woman of God and I praise God for her life. Along with her husband Bishop Weeks. I'm not one to be stuck on the individual but the word that God has given his man or woman of God. So I challenge you if you are looking for a higher level of God and you are willing to die to your flesh, than this is the book for you. Look pass the individual and grasp the word from the throne room.

As we prepare ourselves to meet with God through His, word it forces out the old heart patterns/behaviors. This is when the battle between the new & old heart begins. Prophetess Bynum's message gives us additional hope that reinforces the Word.

Juanita Bynum's theology is this once you are saved, continue renewing your heart by reading the scripture until the new messages replace the old. At times Dr. Bynum's message comes across as preachy, which I believe is her intent. One of the reasons this avid reader chooses "Matters of the Heart" was for its ministry. Open-heart surgery might just be what you need to jump-start your walk of faith.

I think my review heading is suited to this book.THe book she has written, was written by her being led by the Holy Spirit inside her!Many of us need a new heart, and we don't realize it, until she reveals it in her book here. We need to totally surrender,our mind as God cleanses our mind "daily" through his word, be still and know that I am God, he says.
When everything is said and done and the sunset goes down behind the hills, .....our relationship with the Lord, doing whatever he commends us to do, and being able to know him as a true, real, wonderful, holy, The Great I am, comforter. savior, protecter, our strength........is what really counts, I'd rather have God then anything I can see, because things you see.....aren't forever. Children of God, he loves you...and he wants you to walk with him everyday. Press in now.....we are living in the last hour. We need God more than our next breath! God Bless all. I highly recommend this book to anyone that desires a closer walk with our Lord!

I purchased this book back in Nov. 02 and the words have changed my life! I thank God for giving Prophetess Bynum-Weeks the courage and strength to write such a book. If you are looking for a Word that is REAL and not sugar-coated, this is it! If you are REAL about your walk with God, then this book should be in your library. Make sure you have a notebook and pen handy because you will want to take notes. You will also want to re-read it because there's so much in its pages, you're bound to miss something! Your heart and mind will be transformed! Get ready for God to do a mighty work in you through this book! God Bless...
