This review is from: Matthew Arnold Eman Poet Lib #53 (Everyman Poetry) (Paperback)
Often a poet is truly known for one poem and one poem alone. For Arnold that poem is 'Dover Beach' which is not only included in this volume, but a stanza of which is on the back- cover of the book. This volume contains a good share of Arnold's other work, including the epic 'Sohrab and Rustum'.
Arnold has the spirit of a great moral teacher, and his poems broadcast often their messages loud and clear.

Remembered this from childhood, thought I liked it. Absolutely tedious. Except the one poem he's noted for. That's good. What happened? Why is this book still in print?
