5.0 out of 5 stars Maui Jim Lenses
I got my first Maui Jim sunglasses a few weeks ago. Before I purchased them I tried on various other top quality sunglasses. I have to say the clarity, sharpness, contrast and saturation of the Maui Jim lens beats any other lens I have ever looked through. The black lens is not a typical gray look when worn, the colors are still quite vivid even though the brightness...

1.0 out of 5 stars In Stock Sometimes Means Not!!
I love Maui Jim Product, so feel free to purchase as many pairs as you can afford. Just don't make the mistake of purchasing from eAngler/Boaters World. I never got the Cyclones from them; in fact they claim never to have had them, although, to this day, they still show them 'In Stock'. After my order, I was notified the manufacturer had discontinued them. No big...

5.0 out of 5 stars Maui Jim Lenses, May 3, 2005

This review is from: Maui Jim Cyclone Sunglasses - Polarized (Eyewear)
I got my first Maui Jim sunglasses a few weeks ago. Before I purchased them I tried on various other top quality sunglasses. I have to say the clarity, sharpness, contrast and saturation of the Maui Jim lens beats any other lens I have ever looked through. The black lens is not a typical gray look when worn, the colors are still quite vivid even though the brightness is significantly and sufficiently muted. The bronze lens is incredible for driving, offering the same quality as the black lens but with enhanced contrast for driving. I didn't much care for the rose lens, it's not my thing. I've owned Ray Ban, Oakley and Armani, and looked at Revo and Serengeti. Nothing comes close to the Maui's for vision quality.

The only criticism I can level at the Maui Jim is that the anti reflective coating is easy to get fingerprints on. You will need a good optical cloth or dry optical towels together with a good cleaning solution to keep them in optimum condition. You should never wipe the lenses with a regular tissue or cloth. But I am told this is true of many top quality lenses with anti-reflective treatment.

I first purchased the Maui Jim Hi-Lo model, but found the lenses a little small which allowed sunlight to get past the lens under certain conditions. I exchanged them for the Cyclone with a great wrap around look and much better eye coverage. At these prices you expect a lot, and thankfully Maui Jim delivers. Now I only wear my Oakley's for playing poker tournaments indoors, the bronze Maui lenses make the red cards too hard to see!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
No big deal, but what kind of company continues to list a product that they know is unavailable, and for the lowest price?? One that after they can't deliver the product ordered seeks to entice you with hokey 'gift certificates' for items you don't want, as they did me. Hey, on second thought, if you are into that, maybe these are the guys for you....
And they notified Amazon that the sale was completed, hence this review. They really rate a '0' but you can only go as low as a '1'.

1.0 out of 5 stars False Advertising - Not in Stock, December 24, 2008
By
I had the same experience - found the glasses I was looking for and ordered only to have them:

1. not be in stock but on amazon it said they were shipped
2. received numerous emails saying i had been given a free subscription to boaters world (something i do not have any interest in)

it is almost like they are doing it to get users information - it bothers me that they have my credit card and address info now

They did refund me after about a week but what a waste of my time and now apparently i will be getting a boat subscription.....
