5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended for lightweight comfort!
I have owned 2 pair of these Maui Jim titanium sunglasses, and highly recommend them!

Unfortunately, I lost the first pair. I've been more careful keeping up with my current Maui Jim titaniums, and have had them now for about 5 years. I have never worn prescription eyeglasses, and I have been sensitive to the weight of other sunglasses - getting a...

1.0 out of 5 stars Great!!....until they broke
Look out, these sun glasses are very fragile. My first pair broke when I was taking them off. The piece just by my ear snapped in two. I sent them back to the company and got another pair but it broke by the bridge. All told, the two glasses lasted a little less than a year each but I was very careful with them and, considering the cost, expected them to last a lot...

I won't be buying another pair of Maui Jims.

3.0 out of 5 stars They Feel Great, May 26, 2009
They feel great when worn and have those great Maui Jim optics, but they are fragile. Sent mine back under warranty once when the thin wires broke. Not much later, they're bent. If you don't mind treating them like eggshells, you'll love 'em.

I have owned 2 pair of these Maui Jim titanium sunglasses, and highly recommend them!

Unfortunately, I lost the first pair. I've been more careful keeping up with my current Maui Jim titaniums, and have had them now for about 5 years. I have never worn prescription eyeglasses, and I have been sensitive to the weight of other sunglasses - getting a headache from the weight or the grip on my head. Out of curiosity, I have looked at other new sunglasses over the years; but nothing feels as good as these Maui's. The quality, the clarity, and the light weight are unbeatable.

Recently some light cracking in one lense has started to appear where the frame attaches to the rimless lense. Even though my glasses are out of the 2 year warranty, I called Maui Jim Repair and was given the instructions on how to ship them for repair. Only $60 to replace both lenses plus $10 for shipping & handling. Much better than $260 to buy another pair. Great products AND great service from Maui Jim!

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke 4 times, September 28, 2009

I have a similar piar of Maui Jim prescription glasses. They have broken 4 times (luckily 3 times under warrenty). Each time they break when simply putting the glasses on. I have worn glasses for over 30 years, and have never had such a fragile pair. I do recommend the Maui Jim lens. I do not recommend the Maui Jim flexible frame.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite sunglasses, January 29, 2009

These are definitely the best pair I sunglasses I have ever purchased. They were so light I could barely tell I was wearing them, and the polarization combined with the anti-glare coating was great for basically anything I did outdoors, including flying. I never had any glare issues, thought the optical quality was wonderful, and would definitely buy these again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great pair of glasses, September 4, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Maui Jim Polarized Sunglasses Wailea 503 Rimless Titanium Sport New (Small) (Eyewear)
I bought my pair of Maui Jims about two months ago. I bought these as a replacement for a pair of Oakley's I had. Oakley sunglasses are great and were worth every penny I paid for them, however my Oakleys tended to feel a little uncomfortable after wearing them for several hours. Like some people they would leave "pinch" marks on my nose and the glasses' arms would scratch the lens when I folded them in so to me it was time for a replacement. Basically I wanted the Maui Jims because their very light, their lenses have more clarity than Oakley, and the frames are made of titanium so not only are they strong but they hold their shape better than a normal pair of frames.
The only two things I can think to look out for when buying this model of glasses are:
1. The frames/arms are hinge less, so this leaves an extra size bulge in your pocket or bag that you put them in. Also, you really can't hang these from your shirt pocket either.
2. For those people who want to buy American made glasses from an American company I researched these glasses at a local Sunglass Hut, and the sales rep told me they were made in America, but upon inspection of the glasses I found they were made in Japan, but they are still great glasses.
In short, other than the two things mentioned above these glasses have met my expectations and were also worth every penny I paid for them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great glasses, June 30, 2009
I just read the earlier reviews ref. these being very fragile. However, I have had these exact same sunglasses for over seven years and they are still good! So I do not understand the problems others have had. I strongly recommend these light weight glasses to anyone who likes quality along with a good looking style!
