Believe it or not, this is a great game and possibly one of the best action/adventure side scrollers to come out for the Super Nintendo. Most people won't recognize it or give it a chance because it's not a game that you hear a lot about and most people probably haven't even heard of it. My little brother had the game at my mom's house once when i went over there and I was bored and had beat most of the other games they had, so I put this one in. Surprisingly, it had great gameplay in every way. The control and sound were good. The graphics were some of the best that I've ever seen for the 16-bit systems and the levels and fast action were awesome. The creators of the game put a lot of original ideas into this game. It ranges from levels that are devoted to bungee jumping to water levels where you have to make Maui Mallard shoot his gun to propel himself through the level. It was a lot of fun while I was playing it, and still is every now and then.

If you miss the good old days when action/adventure side scrollers were at the top of the video game industry, or just want to add another good one to your collection, this would be a good game to get.

I only have this game on PC. The only thing I have to say is they
should make a sequle of this game and update it to Game Boy Advance. I'll give this game one hundred stars.

it's been a long time since i've played this game but what i can tell you is that it's one of the best games i played on the snes. made me late for school a few times hehehe

I played DONALD DUCK IN MAUI MALLARD for Megadrive once and thought it was only in Europe. COLD SHADOW didn't look interesting. But I saw some screenshots and tried it and.. I LOVED IT!

Maui is actually an alter ego of Donald Duck.

I use to play this the PC and after I read the costumer review for the PC version saying to get the Super Nintendo Version instead. Which I did!! I would reccomend this game to you.

Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow came out later on in the SNES life cycle and it is just one of many reasons why people didn't pay attention to this forgotten and overlooked gem. In 1996, it was released on the SNES and other platforms and in a sea of side scroller games, your game had to be different enough to make an impression. This was one of the best games of its kind and it's a shame it didn't sell as much as it could have.

You control Donald Duck, who plays Maui Mallard in a ridiculous story worthy of coming from Disney. You have to search for and grab an artifact and keep it out of harm's way before the island you're on blows up. Before the game is over, you will run, shoot enemies, duck, jump high into the air and find your way around lots of stages with enough variety to keep the action fun and fresh. It's going to take awhile and believe me, your time invested here is well worth it.

Quite literally, Maui Mallard is one of the best side scroller games and to this day, it still stands as a fun game to play. The graphics are sharp, colorful and show how good a game can look on the SNES. The music and sound effects are quirky but cool and fit the mood while the controls are spot on. It won't take you long to make your way through the game. It's a long game too and the difficulty level is just right; some stages are harder than others but you'll get through them. The only thing this game is missing is 2 player support but the game was made with one player in mind so it's okay.

Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow is one game worth searching for to have in your SNES library. It's that good of a game and while the PC version is the superior version, this SNES version is no slouch. There's a good chance you haven't played it and if you still got your SNES around, play this game. I highly recommend it.

I sampled this game before and I love it. Buy this, you'll be impressed. If would've given this 100 stars if I were able to.
