Macadamias are my most favorite nuts.
A. Juvan
They're a better buy than directly from Mauna Loa!
Lynne Montgomery
The nuts are fresh, unbroken, and very tasty.

I bought the Mauna Loa Dry Roasted Macs with sea salt in Hawaii. They were so darn good, I wanted more, but they were very expensive in the supermarket. So, I ordered the 6-pack through Amazon.

Not sure why, but the estimated ship time was a few weeks off and I had a hankering for macs. So, I bought a cheaper brand at the supermarket. They were awful; absolutely no flavor. I tried again with a mid-priced brand -- same problem. These I returned to the market.

Then, I test-tasted one at Whole Foods. Awful.

I started to think that maybe I wasn't remembering it right. Maybe these Mauna Loa macs weren't all that good. Then, finally, they arrived. Oh, my goodness! This is what a mac is supposed to taste like! Fresh, flavorful, just the right amount of salt.

These are absolutely the best and, to date, I have not found a substitute. Store brand peanuts...sure. Store-brand -- or any other brand -- macadamia nut? Heck no!

get original Mauna Loa macadamia nuts from Hawaii at the best deal I could find on the web. They're a better buy than directly from Mauna Loa!

I have been getting these on "subscription", at good price and
just wanted to let others know that they are "fresh" , not stale as they are in some stores. and now they come right to my door.
the "subscription" is good because with that you get free shipping .
once a month, or if you want have 2 for twice a month.
the stores in my area stopped carrying these so I tried this , and so far
it has been a good experience.

Cans were okay but found them at Costco a lot cheaper than I spent. They are in a bag but cost was about 40 percent lower.

What is it with these food companies that refuse to put easy-to-read "best by" or "use by" dates on their products? Mauna Loa has great products, but only if they are fresh. I got several Mauna Loa products for Xmas and none has anything but a complex, unreadable (to me) code stamp on it. C'mon, Mauna Loa, get with the program - please print an easy-to-read "Best By" date on every product!

In 2009-2010 something happened to the quality of Mauna Loa Macadamias. They got darker and harder.
Now again in 2013, they are Back to the Best! Perfect amount of crunchiness without being hard. Color is lighter as it was for many years. I'm back to being a Mauna Loa fan!!

I've tried Planter's Brand and they are awful. Mauna Loa have been around since I was a kid and taste good. I wish they had a bit less salt. I have bitten in to a mildewed one, but it's rare. There are quite a few whole nuts, but also many half and quarter ones, wish they were all full. The only ones better are bulk, but maybe they are Mauna Loa brand too, don't know. At my Wal*Mart, these are $4.88 each. Macadamias are one of the best foods on the planet because they are so high in fat and low carb. Every household should have these.

The Macs from Costco (Kirkland) are not Mauna Loa's. Big difference! Those cheaper ones are from South Africa and although good not great. Mauna Loa is the best. Costco sometimes caries the Mauna Loa's but for some strange reason has been very spotty over the past year or so.
