About the Author
Duane Townsend, M.D., has developed various techniques and programs within the fields of gynecology and oncology. He popularized colposcopy and introduced "rollerball" ablation, and was the first to train and use nurse practitioners in gynecology. In addition, he is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and he authored the first textbook on gynecologic oncology, now in its fifth edition. Having taught at the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of Southern California, and the University of Utah, Dr. Townsend now practices and resides in Park City, Utah.
Rita Elkins, M.H. is the author of numerous books, including Solving the Depression Puzzle, which discusses the various options for effectively overcoming the complex problem of depression, and the award-winning Soy Smart Health. A regular contributor to Let's Live and Great Life magazines, Rita resides in Utah, is married, and has two daughters and two granddaughters.

Informative and practical,

I would like to talk about the book itself.
It's not easy for a doctor to pass knowledge to an audience in an easy to understand way. I know these hardships firsthand as a fellow doctor and a radio talk show host about health. Dr Townsend accomplished the goal of educating, but the true pleasure comes from the simplistic style he incorporates in the book. Yes, as a woman you will learn where hormone imbalance comes from, but a more important message will follow - you will learn what to do to fix the problem by changing your diet, life style and adding natural ingredients. It's beneficial to be able to refresh your memory just by opening any chapter; that is a big plus, because we tend to forget even crucial information. Years ago I felt like many women featured in the book and could not find the solution. After reading many books on the subject I highly recommend Dr. Townsend's book and have even mentioned the title quite often when I lecture in person or go on the air. My wife and I first met Dr. Townsend in 1995. Prior to that we had had three miscarriages and my wife was diagnosed with cervical cancer. My cousin, Dr. Tiffany Parker, suggested we meet Dr. Townsend. It has been a love affair ever since. Not only did my wife not have cervical cancer, approx. one year later we were blessed with a beautiful daughter. Dr. Townsend not only put our fears to rest during that time, but has continued to be one of the few doctors we trust implicitly. He was a straight shooter then, and I suspect always will be.
Dr. Townsend and his wife Joan, are wonderful people. I can't imagine anyone meeting them and not thinking the same. Mike Venturino

The book reveals what every woman needs to know about HRT solutions, relieving menopausal and PMS syndroms and how to prevent diseases overall.
Dr. Townsend expresses his real concern about HMOs and points out how hazardous it can be for your health. I respect his professionalism so much that he became a personal friend and appreciate that he is here for my friends when they need medical advice. Joan Townsend is known to be the " better half" and as a skillful nurse they make a good team. This book should be in every houshold
