5.0 out of 5 stars #6 in the Big, Bad Wolfe series -- Tanner Wolfe
Tanner Wolfe's story has turned out to be a heck of a lot better than I imagined. [for this short of a story].

The characters helped a lot.
Brianna Stewart turns out to be one of the egotistically confident females that is determined to prove that she is as good as any man in taking care of herself.
She is looking for a good bounty hunter to find...

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disjointed/story has some disconnects in it
This is an ok book, not great. The author manipulates the action without regard to anything she has set up in earlier pages, which is annoying - so, for example, the heroine takes a tracking dog out with her but the dog fails to notice the bad guy is standing just across the stream getting ready to shoot her! Instead the dog goes traipsing off to find the hero, leaving...

This review is from: Maverick (Silhouette Desire) (Kindle Edition)
This is an ok book, not great. The author manipulates the action without regard to anything she has set up in earlier pages, which is annoying - so, for example, the heroine takes a tracking dog out with her but the dog fails to notice the bad guy is standing just across the stream getting ready to shoot her! Instead the dog goes traipsing off to find the hero, leaving the heroine on her own, and she's so unprepared that despite her saying she had hunted and tracked her whole life, she doesn't have her weapon to protect herself. Doesn't hold water. And after all that the hero seems enthusiastic about having her guard his back for life??? Just doesn't hold together. The male characers were consistent and attractive but the female lead just didn't make it.

(REAL NAME)
Tanner Wolfe's story has turned out to be a heck of a lot better than I imagined. [for this short of a story].

The characters helped a lot.
Brianna Stewart turns out to be one of the egotistically confident females that is determined to prove that she is as good as any man in taking care of herself.
She is looking for a good bounty hunter to find Minick, the man who killed her sister's best friend and traumatized Dani.

Her problem is that she insists on going along on the hunt [into the mountains]with Tanner.
Tanner, of course, being an excellent, experienced bounty hunter knows the rigors and dangers of the trail, he hunts alone.

Bri offers Tanner a million dollars for the hunt. He can't talk her out of going. Next best thing, he will drop her off on his good friend, Hawk McKenna's place at the foot of the mountains.
Hawk is another great character and extremely helpful. When Bri leaves to track down Tanner, Hawk sends along his dog, Boyo! Great animal.

Boyo follows Tanner's trail and gets Bri safely to his camp. Oh yeah! the hormones kick in, Bri acts like a common hussy, knowing she is going back east and leaving Tanner at the end of the hunt. What, no pregnancy?? Bummer!

Yup! there is gun play - a fast round-up of Minick - Bri goes east - Tanner goes on another hunt - the pup comes - [grin] the rest is inevitable!
Definitely Recommended -PMS -- great light read - enjoyed the reference to Cameron and Sandra's twins.
