The Downhill Slide Continues...,

It had been going south (in a different way) for a little while, but this one sped up the process. It's not unlistenable (see"Hog Wild") but it is a pale shadow of his earlier work. Don't go out of your way to get this.

Although the 90's weren't the best of the Hank Jr. albums this one is decent. The biggest hit on this album by far is ths song Hotel Whiskey(feat. Clint Black) which talks about Hank's life as a ramblin' man and his times on the road, all the others songs are ok so for $5.98 you get what you pay for. And for those who gave this one star? It went gold back in 1992 and hit #7 on the country charts!

I have been Listening to Hank For Some Time Now and own a lot of his music. When i got this i got it on tape i practically drove my freinds Crazy when they would Ride with me i played it so much!!! Its not Hanks best but, it has Some good songs on it Slow, and Fast.Hank Has a good version of A little less talk and a lot more action on here which Toby Keith Cut too Both are good But i like Hanks better.Theres a Great duet Rowdy Bocephus song With Clint Black Singing along Called Hotel Whiskey Itll make you tap your foot Its a good song about Hanks.Rowdy life on the road over the years. Then another good song is Lying jukebox its a funny little song about a man battling a heartbreak and keeps hearing songs that say you, cheated, lied etc...He gets tired of hearing it and says one more and i will pull the plug on you!!!The first song is a pretty good song too its about Converting a Rocker to Country Called Come on over to the Country. Its a great song about conversion from Rock,to Country. Then on A slower song Which i feel Shouldve been on the Maverick Soundtrack Called cut Bank MoNtana Is a story set to an old west type feel about two men fighting Furiously over a Woman they both love This song along is worth buying this cd a great Story song.Theres another upbeat song i like Called i know what you got up your sleeve its about a guy trying to get a girl to go to bed with him, only She aint buying his [stuff] and tells him Flat out i know What youve got up your sleeve!!!There are only two songs left i saved them for last. The first is a Hank Jr song the count song its about those little lover quarrels!!! Yep, you guessed it the ones where you count to ten trying not to blow your top!Hank made a good little song i feel about it its kinda funny in a way i think you will get a little laugh out of it.Then when Fax machines hit the market so did Hank he Said heck if these things are this Good i will invent me one thatll Fax me a beer its kinda funny to in a way the way he words it.He says"The old office Code will never be quiet the same when it comes out Cold and clear "Sit back relax, and punch your fax and i will Fax you a beer!!!Dang i forgot one The low Down Blues its a song Hank Sr recorded .Hank jr. re-recorded changed the instrumentation and made a rocking number on his dads classic.Only one thing i can Say when it Comes to Hank jr.His worst material sounds a lot better in my opinion than the so Called "Country"Nashville is marketing!!! I give it Four Stars keep em Coming Rocking Randall!!!
