Book Description

May 1992
In the face of intense global competition, many companies are dismissing thousands of white collar workers. Surviving managers must fulfill expectations for greater quality, productivity, and innovation with fewer resources and employees. Mavericks! is a blueprint for "management rehabilitation" and shows bosses how to abandon their roles as task masters to become thought stimulators. Filled with advice for anyone who supervises others.

Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

This work is intended for middle managers. Its purpose is to rehabilitate them and to show them how to change from taskmasters to stimulators. Blohowiak speaks to the necessity for creativity in the workplace. He offers a strong statement for the need to be wary of defining too clearly what are acceptable ideas and what are not, because all progress depends on people who color outside the lines. Blohowiak fills his book with examples from many corporations, including Apple and IBM, on how this can be done. This is recommended for popular business collections.
