This is where the legend began. A magnificent collection of songs all penned by Raul Malo.From the excellent "The Lonely Waltz" to the superb "Another Lonely Life", this is music to delight. For all those Mavericks fans who discovered the group through "Dance the Night Away", listen to this Cd and you will not be disappointed

Their first and their best,

I bought this album when it came out in 1990 on Y & T Music. It was their debut, and it's their best album. Almost every song is great; the best is the very sad "Mr. Jones."

A pleasant enough addition to my country collection, but lacks the heart and soul of THE MAVERICKS: DEFINITIVE COLLECTION. Raul Malo has come far from when this album was produced. Personally I prefer their later works with the infusion of 50's rock/alt. country/latino blend.
