5.0 out of 5 stars To The Max!
I'll admit, when I first picked up this book, I was a little skeptical of John Little's workout suggestions. How is it possible to work out for MINUTES a week and achieve any kind of results?

Turns out, John Little knows his stuff.

3.0 out of 5 stars good book
this book is all about max contraction exercise and not about golf. the workout detailed inside does target the muscles primarily used for a golf swing, but I benefited from the info about this style of workout more than anything else.

5.0 out of 5 stars To The Max!, July 24, 2008
This review is from: The Max Golf Workout: A Proven Regimen to Improve Your Strength, Flexibility, Endurance, and Distance Off the Tee (Paperback)
I'll admit, when I first picked up this book, I was a little skeptical of John Little's workout suggestions. How is it possible to work out for MINUTES a week and achieve any kind of results?

Turns out, John Little knows his stuff.

By pushing your body to the max (which means doing extremely heavy loads of weight for a very short amount of time), you're asking the most of your muscles. Which means they continue to grow and develop. Other exercise programs would have you do 15 or 30 reps at a low weight, which does nothing to encourage actual muscle growth.

In this book, John teaches you how to make the most of your exercise time, and destroys some of the myths about which muscles you need to keep in shape in order to maximize your golf game (it's all of them, folks, not just the arms and shoulders).

Don't be fooled by the title, though. Even if you're not a golfer, just a busy person who'd like to get in shape but doesn't have time to spend 2 hours a night in the gym, this book is a perfect starting point.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unique approach, but scientifically sound, December 1, 2008

This review is from: The Max Golf Workout: A Proven Regimen to Improve Your Strength, Flexibility, Endurance, and Distance Off the Tee (Paperback)
I do wish the book had more details and pictures in the actual exercises (nautillus and non nautillus) to help get started, but this book has many unique, but well founded ideas. I think the writer may be defensive and so goes on and on with proven studies to support his ideas, but I will try this out and update my review from the results.

Easy read and really makes sense. I can't wait to start the workout

2.0 out of 5 stars High in Hype - Low In Substance, November 30, 2008
This review is from: The Max Golf Workout: A Proven Regimen to Improve Your Strength, Flexibility, Endurance, and Distance Off the Tee (Paperback)
Author spends 61 pages telling you why you need to believe the training method. Then you get 10 pages of actual substance. Also, the method provided is geared towards Nautilus equipment. If you don't have access to this, you lose some of the value. They should say this in the book review to avoid disappointment.

Not fulfilled!
