I have been in the market for a mechanical keyboard for quite some time, found this peripheral at a local PC shop and decided to do some research on it first. I read that this keyboard is actually only a few months old in the market which explains the lack of reviews on the keyboard itself.

I decided to take the plunge and order the Keyboard.

From the unboxing i could tell this keyboard was going to be something special, the box itself came in a nice finish and excellent safety foam placement. Wrapped neatly in plastic and the extra usb ports, mic jack and headphone jack all were properly covered.

Typing on this was a breeze and it came with a free comfortable wrist guard.

Each key is indeed individually lit with an LED and on top of that the keys themselves are laser etched. That means they keys cannot be Scratched off from wear. The website provides replacement keys and switches in the case of rough handling. The LEDs have 3 brightness settings and a pretty cool Fade effect setting.

You can turn on GAME mode and this keyboard will light up this G icon which means its activated and the windows key is DE-Activated.

It is a one of a kind keyboard in that is the only USB keyboard you can find in the market that offers PERFECT FULL NKRO! a feature normally covered by PS/2 port keyboards.

Overall great price for a keyboard that looks to last its user over 5 to 10 years EASY. Sturdy design, quality LED keys, it has it all!

The keyboard has a solid feel to it and the keys are as expected. The backlighting is quite nicely done and very even. I don't notice any bleeding even when looking dead-on.

I haven't tried charging many things with the hub but I am pretty sure it would run some of my peripherals and memory keys. Phones and high-end devices are recommended not to be used and I already have my phone charging from my monitor hub.

The audio pass-through is very good. I haven't had any chatter or audio fidelity issues while listening to music or gaming thus far. The cables are braided and very heavy duty.

The keys are a little louder than I would like but I am ok with them for now. I am a touch-typer so it's not too bad and I am considering getting some O-rings to help out.

All in all, excellent product.

-Update-

I purchased O-rings from WASD and the travel distance for the keys is slightly less (better typing feel now with the way I type, your mileage may vary) and the keyboard is noticeably quieter. The keyboard is still performing brilliantly.

After reading through some of the positive reviews online I decided to give the Max Keyboard Nighthawk X8 a shot. Had been debating between this and the Deck Keyboard line. Preferred the Cherry Brown switches and the font of the keys. Plus the overall price was a bit cheaper with Max.

First, the matte finish is a nice feature that a lot of keyboard makers seem to be shying away from lately. As someone who hates all the smudges you find on some of the newer, stylish keyboards, this was a welcome surprise that I hadn't initially researched. The keys feel almost rubberized and provide nice grip for typing. They are also laser etched which means you won't have them wearing off over time if you are a heavy typer such as myself (this was a problem with other keyboards I've used and one of the reasons I set my sights on a company that laser etched the keys).

The keyboard feels solid, albeit a bit heavy. It features a mic, headphone, and 2 USB ports in the back for added peripherals. I'm not sure if I'll use them for anything but a mic, but I'm sure they're handy for some people. The backlighting is well done with a number of settings including a "breathing" option which seems kind of pointless but may be a positive for others. It also comes with a decent wrist support and braided cables which seem to be standard on most high end keyboards.

My gripes with the keyboard are fairly minor. I wish it had an function key on the bottom left as I've gotten used to it, although I'm sure I can fiddle with the software a bit and find a feasible alternative. But since the media keys are on the left and the function key on the right, you have to use two hands to utilize them. The spacebar is also a bit louder than I anticipated.

First Impressions: When the UPS person handed me the box I almost dropped it, expecting it to weight about the same as my Logitech G15, but I was surprised with the heftiness of the boxed keyboard. Once opened I notice that it is packaged well and has foam holding it secure on both ends, and the memory gel hand-rest on the bottom (yes they supply you with nice soft type hand-rest) , and though the keyboard is of plastic construction, it does not feel cheap.. Attaching to my computer was easy with the gold plated USB with two (2) 3.5 connector; these are black and have the connector types on them, but the insignias are small and hard to see. I got scare a little when I started my computer and nothing happened, the keyboard did not light up, nor would it allow me to use it to enter the bios (unlike my Logitech when I first installed it), but once Windows started, everything started up fine. And all I could say was, "WOW", they really created a nice keyboard, they even back-lighted the space bar and etched a line in it , so you can pick it out at night. Now some of the small issues: 1) provided fact sheet is very short on what the keyboard extra function are, like how to disable the Windows key for gaming , I did not see this, but it is on the website. 2) The downloadable Macro software, is hard to understand, (I have a Cyborg MMO mouse, and that software is easy to use compared to this), it could be better; I hope they build off of it and make it more user friendly, and finally 3)the 3.5 gold plated audio connectors, should be colored, to make them distinguishable from one another.
Final thoughts, the MX brown key will take me some time to get used to, but I now see why a mechanical keyboard is the way to go, WOW!! What a difference a higher end keyboard makes.
