Max Lucado is a versatile writer of both nonfiction and fiction titles. His excellent ability to vividly expound upon scripture and to tell a riveting story is marvelous. This Christmas collection contains three of his excellent fiction works. Each story is read by a very talented narrator. The best narrations are Tom Dooley's rendition of "Cosmic Christmas," and Greg Whalen's reading of "The Christmas Candle."

1. "The Christmas Child": This poignant story tells of a young man whose marital problems prompt him to seek an escape. After receiving a mysterious postcard, he is drawn to a church building in Clearwater, Texas. An unusual Nativity Scene is the catalyst that launches the young man into an unforgettable journey of self-discovery. This is a beautiful tale of redemption told in a compelling manner. I cried as I lsitend; something I rarely ever do.
2. "Cosmic Christmas": Was the birth of our Savior a quiet, picturesque scene with gentle animals and a serene mother and child: a "silent night"? Far from it! This suspense-laden, riveting account of Christ's birth, (told from Gabriel's perspective), will keep listener's spellbound. Gabriel is entrusted with delivering God's precious seed to a young virgin girl. However, Satan, the cunning and deveius enemy of God, will stop at nothing to destroy the Seed and the young girl that carries it.
3. "The Christmas Candle": Set in the English village of Gladstone in 1864, this humorous yet poignant story tells of a mysterious angelic visitation that occurs every 25 years and the candles that are blessed by his touch. When an accident occurs on the night of the final angelic visit, the old couple who keep the candle shop must decide what to do. Whose life will be changed? The skeptical new minister? The farmer suffering from life-threatening headaches, or the candlemaker and his wife themselves?

I received this book set and was very pleased. These books are very well written and thought out. I plan on giving this set as gifts to some of my friends this year!

I've only read The Angel Story but this is by far the best Christmas story ever. It's a story about how God's angels went to Mary to tell her she would give birth to God's Son and how the devil tried to stop them. Then the angels stay with Mary and protect her until Jesus is born. It makes a great story to read to others.

I purchased this book for one of the three stories it contains, An Angel's Story, which unfortunately is out of print. I fully expect the other two stories to be very good also.

I've only read the 1st one & now am excited to read the second & third in this collection. "An Angel's Story" was originally released as "Cosmic Christmas". It is an excellent reading. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very well written. It is a quick read too. One that you will want to read year after year. Our book club chose it for our December reading & I cannot wait to get together to discuss it in a few weeks. I've already read it twice and then bought the Kindle version so that I can share my hard-back with friends! =0) Two Thumbs Up!

All three stories are wonderful, but 'Cosmic Christmas' is probably the coolest surprise as it tells the story of Christmas from the perspective of the angel Gabriel who is tasked with the mission of delivering the spirit of God to Mary - the seed that is Christ. However, the prince of darkness is not sitting idly by to let this happen. The journey to Earth become a surprisingly epic battle with Lucifer pulling out every trick in his book from clever deception to all-out, full-on assault with his hordes of demons against Gabriel and his army of angels!

I have had Max Lucado's book "Cosmic Christmas" for several years and several times have attempted to purchase it but it has not been available. When I saw this collection I realized the name had been changed but it was the same story plus two others.
I really enjoyed the other two stories and am SO glad I could pass this to friends to read the first story I call "Cosmic Christmas".

Rev. Lucado is an excellent Christian teller of stories. This is well-worth the inexpensive price.

I have several Max Lucado books. He is a writer that is up there with my other favorite author Richard Paul Evans. Thank you for the stories of hope friendship and the holiday spirit. May it be all year long.

This is a must have, must sare, must talk about. I personally enjoyed this book, reread it and passed it on to loved one. This book has a way of touching your soul. I highly recommend it to anyone. Easy reading, spiritually uplifting and good way to spend some quiet time especially during the busy holiday season.
