This review is from: Max Et Le Maximonstres (French Edition) (Paperback)
Not only does this edition give my daughter an opportunity to experience a family favourite in French, but the exceptional quality of the paper brought back memories of how books smelled and felt way back in the dark ages (when I was a girl). Packaging could have been more careful -cover slightly damaged in transit.

This was purchased for a middle school French class, and my students love that one of their favorite stories as a child is offered in French for their enjoyment. This turned out to be a great way to encourage my students to read for fun in French!

Nicely done translation of a classic,

This is a very nicely done French translation of the classic Where the Wild Things Are. It keeps to the English version's rhythm and pacing, which is key (especially for language nerds like me). It's a good book to engage my 5-year-old with even though he's not fluent in French because the story is so familiar that he can follow along. The only slight imperfection (if it can even be called that) is that they use the past tense that is only used in writing, which is kind of weird for a children's book - it makes things unnecessarily complicated for an early learner of French. I didn't learn about this particular verb tense until I was a college-level French literature student. Apart from that, the book is great.
