My two-year-old son LOVES all of Rosemary Wells' books, but none are nearer and dearer to his heart than the Max & Ruby stories. These DVDs are those books come alive. Max is the quintessential toddler/ early preschooler, and these stories will be enjoyed greatly by those of that set (ok, and their parents too).

In a world where most cartoons has no more inocence and teach you nothing but bad words and sarcasm, these Max and Ruby DVDs are excellent for toddlers, cute, light and great short stories. My 3 year old loves it and even the 8 year old watches it and enjoys it.

My two year old son always asks if he can watch Max & Ruby. It is his favorite show. This DVD set is perfect and we plan to bring it with us on trips so my son can watch them on his portable DVD player. The stories are always so cute and my son watches them with a smile on his face.

This is a Christmas gift for my grandson and he watched the videos
already and enjoys them very much. All items arrived on time and
in good condition

My three year old son LOVES Max and Ruby, he can watch these DVD's
over and over if I let him. These are the ones he is always asking for.
He relates so much to Max. I like Max and Ruby too. The stories move
along slow enough for the young ones so they can follow them easily
enough.

This is my first Max & Ruby DVD and my 3-1/2 yr old son loves it. He plays it on his DVD even while occupied and engaged with his own quiet time. I commented to my husband that there must be something soothing in the voiceovers or it's just that my son enjoys watching Max do his thing. The animation is cute; the experiences seem to speak to my child (e.g., resisting doing what somebody else asks you to do; doing funny things like playing with toys that make others laugh, etc.) This is a wonderfully "normal" DVD.

The kids love it. They watched over and over as we drove to Florida from Illinois.

Bought this DVD for my grandchildren and they absolutely love it. It has a touch of real life in it, which I definetly approve of. Would recommend this product for toddlers to enjoy.

My grown-up daughter loves "Max & Ruby." She pestered me until I stopped to watch it one day. I am so glad she did! I was immediately hooked on the series. I couldn't get enough of the televised reruns. The stories are charmingly creative and fluffy. The older sister who lovingly guides her young brother is adorable. I wish these vignettes had been available when I was raising my children! Whenever I feel a little droopy about the world, I watch how Max & Ruby cope with life. The DVDs are the next best thing to watching the original shows.

Five stars for this particular double CD from this particular company. Shipped promptly and arrived neatly packaged. The content is what you're looking for, lots of Max 'n Ruby with lots of simple, sweet, and feisty cartoons. The animation is plus/minus in the sense that some areas of the background look blurry on our high-def screen. Not sure if this is the desire of the animators or just the way the images translate to our TV. I think Max is extremely huggable and his behavior is really modelled after that of a toddler. Ruby is appropriately big-sister in her behavior. A few things trouble me but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief so my kid is entertained:
a) Where are their parents? How come Grandma lives next door and no grownups stay with them?
b) Why is Max allowed to wander the department store for so long by himself? To be fair, security eventually assists him.
c) Didn't anybody tell Ruby to carry more than a few dollars in her purse for safety reasons?

I agree that Max is naughty but I think he is appropriately so. Entertaining stuff for the whole family.
