5.0 out of 5 stars Great framing nailer
I have used several framing nailers: stanley, passlode, hitachi, senco, and by far this one is the best. It is very light and compact. You don't have the burden of carrying around a large heavy tool. I haven't had any problem with jamming, and it takes standard 21 degree full head nails. It will fit into tight spots that other nail guns can't. I wouldn't buy any other...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not quite as good as advertizied
The reviews(from the manufacturer) stated that it would sink nails into engineered lumber. It does not do so consistantly. It is small enough to get into tight spaces. Overall a good nailer.

5.0 out of 5 stars RATED #1 BY ToolsOfTheTrade.com, June 19, 2008
This review is from: Max SN883RH SuperFramer 20-Degree Strip Framer (Tools & Home Improvement)
This nailer rocks. It's really powerful, remarkably compact, the lightest framer out there, and has virtually no kickback. Hard to believe. Someone did some amazing engineering on this one. Tools of the Trade.com recenlty rated it their number one pick out of 20 framers including guns from Senco, Hitachi, Bostich, Porter-Cable, Makita, Dewalt and others. Here's the link,

[...]

I also tried the bigger Max nailer (SNN890RH) for comparison. The SNN890RH was FineHomeBuilding's number one pick a few years ago, but the test was done before this new one came out. The SNN890RH has even more power and will shoot 3 1/2" nails, but the trade off is it's heavier, bulkier, has a significant kickback and sometimes will double fire even with the anti-double-fire trigger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does all that needs to be done, April 26, 2010

This review is from: Max SN883RH SuperFramer 20-Degree Strip Framer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased the max after reading great reviews and then seeing that it was number one from tools of the trade which a majority of their tools that they test and rate the best I own and agree with their reviews.

Now onto the tool. It works very well, sinks all nails and is quite light in weight. I also own a senco scn65xp coil framer which is also an awesome gun but I only use for sheathing and subfloor applications due to the tendency of it double firing when I toe nail. The Max works great with toe nailing (seems to be all we do here in NJ) The gun has alot of nice feature and the toolless depth change works well. overall this is a great gun and would recommend to anyone. If anyone has a question on how this performs write on the comments page and i will try and get back to you as soon as possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wrist saver, July 4, 2010

Great tool! Everything I expected and more. I've slammed way too many 16's and my wrist can no longer take the wear and tear. I was blown away at the minimal amount of recoil! The gun is light, fast and compact enough to sail through all but the tightest of spaces. Best price I could find also.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never jams, February 9, 2011

Solid workhorse. Given it is limited to 3-1/4", I've used nails as short as 2-3/8" and have yet to see but one or two jams in 2 years of service. It's very lightweight and have used it for siding. Paired with a Thomas compressor, it is very consistent setting nails, even galvy.

I selected the Max Framing nailer to replace the old Paslode Framer. I looked at several reviews to make the decision. I am pleased with the gun. It is light weight (at least compared to the old Paslode), comfortable hand grip, short enough to get between studs, no jams. The depth of drive adjustment works well and is simple to set. The guys like it a lot.

This framing nailer works great and has exceptional power! Very well made and very nice looking. Have used DeWalt and other nailers in the past and this beats them hands down for power and craftsmanship.
Can't beat Amazon for prices or shipping!

I LIKE THE MAKITA 923 BETTER BUT IT HAD A PROBLEM SO I TOOK IT BACK AND I GOT THE MAX 883 RH. FOR THE PRO I WOULD GO WITH MAX, IT IS NOT AS HEAVY. FOR THE BUILD THE BARN, CHICKEN COOP, ADD A ROOM AND BUILD A SHED USE AROUND THE HOUSE GET THE MAKITA 923 IT IS SWEET.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Nailer, September 5, 2010

I bought this nailer to reinforce my living room sub-floor. It's well constructed and seems to have plenty of power. Its low profile allows it to fit nicely between joists... which is exactly what I needed. I've driven over 1,000 3 inch nails so far and haven't had one misfire. Although I paid a little more than planned, I'm very satisfied with the product.
