My son received this toy a few weeks ago and hasn't stopped playing with it. The sword is just the right size for him, not too heavy and still safe to swing around. The light up effect and sound effects are pretty neat and respond to motion, which my son seems to enjoy a lot.

There is a clip on part for the character "Steel" from the animated film which activates the sword's special powers. Steel can be clipped onto your shirt or played with separately, so it is kind of a two in one toy.

Overall, this is a toy my son loves to play with, which is all that matters. And as a parent, I am happy to see anything that makes him smile this much.

I received product to review via the One2One Network. All opinions are my own.

I am posting this review on behalf of One2One Network. All opinions are my own. We received this item to review for a party full of 3-6 year old boys. It was easy for them to use and not to heavy. The features were simple to operate, and even though some were under the recommended age, it was still fully usable. Their were no sharp points, and even when my son whacked another upside the head, there was no damage to the sword or child. I say that since that is the way the majority of boys play, it held up to the standard roughness test well. I would recommend this toy to boys for imaginative play.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Parents may be interested in the following:

- Sword is BIG, will undoubtedly knock something over if used indoors.
- Noise level is moderate to quiet, won't be extremely annoying.
- Uses 3 AAA batteries (included)
- Toy is durable so long as it isn't hacked against a tree or something. It is meant to be swung through the air.
- Child does not have to be familiar with "Max Steel" to appreciate the toy, but will have more fun if they are.

OVERALL: While some parents will cringe to see such a huge sword being swung through the air, there's no doubt that kids (and some adults) will love this sword and its cool lighting/sound effects. It is very interactive without being overly loud and annoying. So long as the child isn't unusually aggressive and prone to hit people with such toys, I think it will definitely be a favorite and certainly played with more than once.

I received product to review via the One2One Network. All opinions are my own.

Since opening this sword, I don't think it has left the sight of my almost-5-year-old. He was so excited to start playing with it and hasn't put it down since. The sword is kind of large, and what I was most worried about was him hitting someone (one of his brothers) with it, but so far so good.

The sword itself has a lot of really cool features. The Steel character can be attached to "Go Turbo," or the sword can be used without it. There are different phrases and sounds depending on whether or not you have it attached. It lights up, which is always a fun feature for the boys.

The durability of the sword is pretty great. Despite the boys hitting trees, couches, walls and other things with the sword, it hasn't shown any wear or tear yet. It's been thrown around a ton too.

Out of all of the sword-type toys we have at home, this is definitely the favorite. My only complaint is that there's no off switch on it, and it does make noises and say phrases every time you move it. But other than that, I think it's a great and fun toy for any boy (or girl too.)

This is a sponsored review on behalf of One2One Network. All opinions remain 100% my own.

Being the mom of two boys that are 5 and 7, we have quite a few different swords. This one has quickly become one of our favorite. First, it's nice that they can play pretend that they are Max Steel since they watch the show. The sword itself is pretty large, but light to hold. It lights up with blue lights and is interactive with Steel. Steel can attach to the sword, your child's shirt or the base where it appears to be floating. It's fun to have steel as an added plus.

This sword is very durable. It has endured many battles, been thrown down the stairs and more. It still works perfectly which is nice because my kids are rough on toys. I wouldn't say that it's really an educational toy since it's more for fun, but it's one that I would recommend for any Max Steel fans or for those looking for a good sword for their child that will last.

Oh Mattel. you have done it again , you have stolen the heart of another young boy. My son was IN LOVE with this product when he say the boy in the commercial swinging it around , knocking over hollow blocks. He stared slack jawed when he had "max" on his shirt , removed Max and then attached him to the sword for more features.. he HAD to have it .

while he is only 5 and not yet employed out of the house , and we try to keep "gifts" to birthdays and Christmas , We suggested that he work , save the money and purchase this item himself.. he did. He weeded his grandmothers flower beds for a pay rate I'd work for, but what are grandma's for? He did extra chores around the house and even coaxed some money from his sister for doing her chores. Until he saved up enough.Which thankfully Amazon had a 10$ lower price than our local WallyWorld . Which was nice since he was anxious to buy it . I am a Prime member so shipping was fantastic and prompt. I always enjoy that. The sword was everything it was promised to be according to the commercial. It is one of his prize possessions , and not only because the sword is awesome , but because he worked hard for it .

but since we've had it for a few months now I know what I ( as an adult ) don't care for about it , but it's truley things you wouldn't know until you've had it in your house. First being , within minutes of opening it , he was anxious to attach Max to his shirt...well you place him on the front and a plate on the back , and "snap" it together with the shirt in the center... the edges of it ripped his shirt up so that was ruined :( . Next being , and maybe I am old.... but , it's loud. It's a very loud toy and it's motion activated.
