My hunter fan came with this type of unusual bulb and I thought I found an easy solution with these bulbs. Unfortunately, these bulbs are at least an inch longer than the bulb I am replacing and don't fit with the fixture I have. If you're looking for a bulb to fit a hunter fan fixture, you may just have to buy it from hunter fan.

I have the bulb for only 1 year and it burned out. The incandescent bulb lasts longer than this expensive bulb.

I got this bulb on January 2011, and it went dark in September! Aren't fluorescent bulbs supposed to outlive their incandescent counterparts? Basically it is a pain, since you cannot find a replacement in your average hardware store, and have to get it shipped, and then it gets burnt so easily! Shame on my construction company for sticking me with this.

These bulbs are hard to find AND they don't last long for some reason. Search Amazon for "GU24 socket adapter" and you can use an adapter to use regular bulbs in your fixture. Right now, it seems bulbarama is the only distributor for these on amazon. They charged a high shipping fee but I bought 2 for my outdoor fixtures and the shipping remained the same.

Received bulb on time. Quite bright. No problem to put in.
Am using it on exterior post lights since this is the way the light was designed.

I've used this bulb for approximately 6 months and it is already flickering on and off. Would definitely not purchase again.

Maybe it was a fluke, but I bought four. I used one so far and it already burned out after a few months.

Light bulb has lasted very long and in comparison with other Self-Ballast Fluorescent lights it emits a very comfortable, yellowish, natural light.

I am 1 1/2 hours from a DIY store and they didn't have one anyway. Looked at Amazon and there it was at a great price~ Soon I can get everything from Amazon and won't have to go to town at all! Looking forward to that.

Don't like flourescent bulbs, but I liked a specific ceiling fan and this is what it used. I flip the switch, the light comes on. 5 star ('cause I don't know what could possibly make it rate anything else). It ain't a "Let there be light" sort of thing, but it keeps me from tripping in the dark.
