It does keep hot things hot for a while. It holds 910 ml, not 1,000. It has never left my kitchen but is falling apart. Buy a Thermos brand.

Use it fishing and it keeps my coffee warm longer than any I have purchased before. The only down fall is you need to remember after closing the lid to pour off the excess however it really is not a problem.

This is a Christmas present I bought. I was so excited when I found it because I was looking for an inexpensive thermos but all the 32 ounces and such cost so much money! Then I found this 1 liter and it was perfect!
